What is Unrivaled?

Today’s 2025 Unrivaled League Best Bets

Here are our top picks for today’s 2025 Unrivaled League action.

Vinyl BC vs. Phantom BC

To close out the first weekend of the Unrivaled Basketball League, the Vinyl will face off against the Phantom. Vinyl were victorious in their first game of the season, while the Phantom opened the first of 14 games in unfortunate fashion- losing by 38 to the Laces. Rhyne Howard, De’Arica Hamby, and Arike Ogunbowale, led the scoring for the Vinyl with 60 combined points in the first win for the team. Howard was unstoppable on Friday scoring 33 points- including 6-of-12 from beyond the arc. The unexpected injury to Marina Mabrey (calf injury) only two days before the league begins is a tremendous setback for the Phantom. The “Ghost Gang” connected on a mere 32% of field goals on 55 attempts in their first game. The Vinyl scored almost 80 points on 46% shooting in their first win, with the most prolific scorer on the team only finishing the contest with 10 points. Vinyl are the healthier team, and clearly have no issues scoring in volume early on. It appears they are in solid position to record two wins in the first week of play.

Pick: Vinyl +1

Laces BC vs. Mist BC

The Laces dominated their first game of the season with an 86-48 win over the Phantom. The offense dominated early on, thanks to their ability to spread the ball and find the high percentage shots. This roster has a lot of advantages; you have Tiffany Hayes, Jackie Young, and Kate Martin, who are all teammates on the Aces and have built-in chemistry; then you add Sun star Alyssa Thomas, and they are efficient perimeter shooters and dominate the boards. The Mist were not as fortunate as they lost to the Lunar Owls. It was a close game; in fact, they were up 78-75 in the fourth quarter, needing six points to win before the Owls went on a 9-2 run. Breanna Stewart is the star of this team, and that's why each team will make sure they shut her down. The Lunar Owls did with only six points, but Stewart's former Storm teammate Jewell Loyd handled the offense with 30 points. It looks like the Laces could be one of the better teams in this league, and that's why it's shocking to see them as an underdog. They will continue to show why they could win it all in this inaugural season.

Pick: Laces ML (-115)
