2025 US Open Odds, Picks & Predictions

The U.S. Open returns to Oakmont Country Club in the Pittsburgh area this week.

Expect carnage.

When the U.S. Open was last played at Oakmont in 2016, Dustin Johnson finished -4, winning by three strokes over Shane Lowry, Jim Furyk, and Scott Piercy. They were the only other players to finish under par. The cut line that year was +6.

At the 2007 U.S. Open at Oakmont, Angel Cabrera finished +5 to edge Tiger Woods by one stroke. The cut line was +10.

Oakmont will present players with narrow fairways, gnarly rough, deep bunkers, and huge, lightning-fast greens. Putting on Oakmont's greens is like putting on a glass tabletop.

The 2025 U.S. Open is going to be a test of survival. Here are the potential survivors I'm betting on this week. Read on for my 2025 U.S. Open picks and predictions.

2025 U.S. Open Odds, Picks & Predictions

All odds courtesy of DraftKings as of Monday night.

Bryson DeChambeau Outright Winner (+750)

Scottie Scheffler is more likely to win, but Bryson at +750 is a better value than Scottie at +275.

DeChambeau has finished in the top 5 in each of his last six events. That streak includes the first two majors of the year. He tied for fifth at The Masters and tied for second at the PGA. DeChambeau has finished sixth or better in five of the last six majors.

Bryson gets up for the majors, and his power off the tee will give him a big advantage at Oakmont.

Joaquin Niemann Outright Winner (+3500)

Niemann just won the LIV Tour event in Virginia, coming from behind with a blistering round of 63 on Sunday. It was Niemann's fourth LIV Tour victory of the year.

The 26-year-old Chilean hadn't made much noise in majors before finishing eighth at last month's PGA Championship. His showing there seems like an indication that Niemann is ready to start contending in majors.

Ben Griffin Outright Winner (+7000) and Top 5 (+900)

Griffin is on a heater. In his last three tournaments, he tied for eighth at the PGA Championship, won the Charles Schwab Challenge, and finished second to Scottie Scheffler at The Memorial.

Statistically, Griffin has been solid across the board with the exception of driving accuracy, a category in which he ranks 101st.

The occasionally errant driver is a concern, but the 29-year-old Griffin has shown some serious grit over the last month, and grit is going to be a key ingredient this week at Oakmont.

Harris English Outright Winner (+10000), Top 5 (+1200) and Top 30 (+115)

English is a grinder who's at his best on difficult courses. He finished fourth when the U.S. Open was played at notoriously tough Winged Foot in 2020, and he finished third when the U.S. Open was at punishing Torrey Pines in 2021.

English tied for second at last month's PGA Championship. His last appearance was at The Memorial, where he tied for 12th on a course that plays much like a U.S. Open venue.

English has never missed a cut in nine U.S. Open starts, which is why I'm betting him for a top 30. He seems like a guy who'll hang around all weekend.

Akshay Bhatia Outright Winner (+15000) and Top 5 (+1600)

The 23-year-old Bhatia will eventually start contending in majors on a regular basis. He finished 16th at Pinehurst No. 2 last year in his second U.S. Open appearance.

Bhatia ranks 56th on tour in driving accuracy, 21st in strokes gained: approach to green, and 12th in strokes gained: putting.
