2025 US Open Picks & Predictions: Brian Harman
The third major of the year, the 2025 U.S. Open, begins Thursday at Oakmont Country Club in Western Pennsylvania.
Oakmont is a classic U.S. Open venue with narrow fairways, overgrown rough, and lightning-fast greens. We'll once again get to see the famous "Church Pews" - the huge bunker bordering holes No. 3 and No. 4 that has rows of grass strips in the sand.
It will be a challenging test for the best players in the world. Will we get a head-to-head duel between No. 1 player in the world Scottie Scheffler, who won the PGA Championship last month, and No. 2 Rory McIlroy, who won the Masters in April? Or will LIV Tour star Bryson DeChambeau successfully defend his 2024 U.S. Open title?
The BettingPros Guide to the 2025 U.S. Open will drill down on all the wagering opportunities this tournament presents, taking a closer look at the top contenders for America's national championship of golf.
Read on for our 2025 US Open picks and predictions for Brian Harman.

- World Ranking: 28
- Best U.S. Open finish: 2 (2017)

Course History
This will be Brian Harman's first time playing Oakmont. He first played in the U.S. Open in 2012, where he failed to make the cut. He missed it again in 2015, but didn't play the tournament again until 2017 - where he had his best finish in the U.S. Open (T-2). He hasn't come close to finishing in the top 10 since. In his last five times playing in the U.S. Open, he finished T-38, T-19, T-43, T-43 and T-21 (last season).
Recent Form
Harman has been active this season, playing in 16 tournaments, making the cut in 13, finishing in the top 25 in five and in the top 10 twice. He does have one win under his belt this season, the Valero Texas Open.
Since then, the results have not been stellar. While he does have one top-five finish (T-3 at RBC Heritage), his best finish otherwise was T-36 at the Masters. At the PGA Championship, he finished T-60. In his last appearance at the Memorial Tournament, he failed to make the cut.
Betting Outlook: 2025 U.S. Open Picks & Predictions
There is no reason to think Harman might win the U.S. Open or even finish inside the top 20. As far as betting on Harman goes, I see only two markets worth considering: To miss the cut (+100) or finish inside the top 40 (+120). With how he's played this season, it would not shock me to see him miss the cut, but if he makes it (-135), his ceiling may be a top-40 finish.
