2025 US Open Picks & Predictions: Brooks Koepka

The third major of the year, the 2025 U.S. Open, begins Thursday at Oakmont Country Club in Western Pennsylvania.

Oakmont is a classic U.S. Open venue with narrow fairways, overgrown rough, and lightning-fast greens. We'll once again get to see the famous "Church Pews" - the huge bunker bordering holes No. 3 and No. 4 that has rows of grass strips in the sand.

It will be a challenging test for the best players in the world. Will we get a head-to-head duel between No. 1 player in the world Scottie Scheffler, who won the PGA Championship last month, and No. 2 Rory McIlroy, who won the Masters in April? Or will LIV Tour star Bryson DeChambeau successfully defend his 2024 U.S. Open title?

The BettingPros Guide to the 2025 U.S. Open will drill down on all the wagering opportunities this tournament presents, taking a closer look at the top contenders for America's national championship of golf.

Read on for our 2025 US Open picks and predictions for Brooks Koepka.

Stats to Know

  • DraftKings Odds to Win: +5500
  • World Ranking: 425
  • Best U.S. Open finish: 1 (2017, 2018)
  • Last four U.S. Open finishes: 4, 55, 17, 26

Course History

He competed at Oakmont Country Club for the 2016 U.S. Open, and on Day 1, he shot a 75. He would shoot better the rest of the way, but would finish T-13. The following two years would be Koepka's shining moments as he would win back-to-back U.S. Opens in 2017 and 2018, then finish second in 2019. His regression has been noted over the last few years, with just one major win since 2019 (2023 PGA Championship), and he has finished outside the top 15 in his last three U.S. Opens.

Recent Form

Koepka is not enjoying his 2025 as he only has two top-ten finishes on the LIV Tour while finishing outside of the top 30 in four tournaments. It's been even worse in his two PGA majors as he missed the cut at the Masters and PGA Championship.

Betting Outlook: 2025 U.S. Open Picks & Predictions

Koepka was once looked at as the future of the sport, especially with that run of four major wins from 2017-2019. It’s all been downhill since, with no top 20 finishes in his last six majors, which includes two consecutive missed cuts. He's someone to stay away from until he can get back to form.
