2025 US Open Picks & Predictions: Jon Rahm

The third major of the year, the 2025 U.S. Open, begins Thursday at Oakmont Country Club in Western Pennsylvania.

Oakmont is a classic U.S. Open venue with narrow fairways, overgrown rough, and lightning-fast greens. We'll once again get to see the famous "Church Pews" - the huge bunker bordering holes No. 3 and No. 4 that has rows of grass strips in the sand.

It will be a challenging test for the best players in the world. Will we get a head-to-head duel between No. 1 player in the world Scottie Scheffler, who won the PGA Championship last month, and No. 2 Rory McIlroy, who won the Masters in April? Or will LIV Tour star Bryson DeChambeau successfully defend his 2024 U.S. Open title?

The BettingPros Guide to the 2025 U.S. Open will drill down on all the wagering opportunities this tournament presents, taking a closer look at the top contenders for America's national championship of golf.

Read on for our 2025 US Open picks and predictions for Jon Rahm.

Let’s dive into our top bets, picks, and predictions for the 2025 U.S. Open for Jon Rahm.

Stats to Know

  • DraftKings Odds to Win: +1200
  • World Ranking: 77
  • Best U.S. Open finish: 1 (2021)

Course History

Jon Rahm has only played at Oakmont Country Club once - the 2016 U.S. Open. He shot a brutal 76 on Day 1, and even though he shot -4 the rest of the way, he finished T-23. He has had recent success in this tournament, having won it in 2021 and achieved four top-10 finishes in his last five appearances. He unfortunately had to miss the tournament last year due to an injury.

Recent Form

Rahm has been one of the more consistent players on the LIV Golf Tour. Since joining LIV, he’s never finished outside of the top 10, and has finished in the top eight in seven of his last eight tournaments. We haven't seen any fall off when playing the four-round PGA majors, and this year he finished T-14 at the Masters and T-8 at the PGA Championship.

Betting Outlook: 2025 U.S. Open Picks & Predictions

The fear for Rahm is whether he will have the drive accuracy off the tee to compete in the tight fairways at Oakmont. He was in strong contention at the PGA Championship, but finished his final three holes with a bogey and two double-bogeys. It might be tough to see him winning this tournament, but his talent is still worth backing and he could still come away with another top-10 finish.
