Team USA vs. France

You might want to get on France to win this game before the odds dip drastically. There's no reason why Team USA should be favored to win, let alone by eight points. France has dominated every game, and almost every quarter they have played. France is relentless on the defensive end and constantly pushes the pace, playing like a team that wants to win at all costs. Whereas Team USA looks like 12 players put together on a whim. There's nothing bringing this team together, and it will be their downfall.

What makes Team USA even less likely to win is the horrendous rotations they’ve employed. There's no reason why the starting five after the first game wasn't Caitlin Clark, Paige Bueckers, Jackie Young/Rhyne Howard, Angel Reese and Breanna Stewart. Chelsea Gray should not be playing more than Clark, Bueckers and Reese. It's starting to seem like the youngsters were selected to entice people to watch rather than to showcase their elite-level basketball skills. Who's to say on that front. What we can say is that Team USA is not the best team in this tournament, and will more than likely come to that realization very early on tomorrow.

If you want to drop the points total, you're still getting a positive return. However, we are going to take France to win on the Moneyline and to go over their team total of 74.5 points. France has scored 80+ points in every contest. This will be the toughest defensive matchup for France by far. Having said that, no one has been able to stop this train once it starts rolling.

France is averaging 96.2 points through five games on 51.6% shooting from the field, 46% from beyond the arc and 82.7% from the free-throw line. Team USA is shooting just below 46% from the field, 31.8% from three-point distance and 73.2% from the charity stripe. There's very little reason to believe Team USA will win this game.

Picks: France Moneyline (+260) & France Team Total Over 74.5 Points (-115)
