2026 Masters Picks & Predictions: Russell Henley

The best golfers in the world will be in Augusta, Georgia, this week for the first major of the year, The Masters. We’re going to share our top 2026 Masters picks and predictions.

Augusta National Golf Club is simultaneously a feast for the eyes and a stern test of golfing acumen. The Georgia pines and blooming azaleas highlight Augusta's beauty, but this world-renowned course demands precise ballstriking and short-game excellence.

Rory McIlroy had an epic victory at last year's Masters to earn his first Green Jacket. Can he successfully defend his title, or will the No. 1 player in the world, Scottie Scheffler, win at Augusta for the third time in five years? PGA Tour stars Ludvig Aberg and Xander Schauffele are looking for a career-altering victory, and big-hitting LIV Tour stalwarts Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau will be in the hunt.

Welcome to the fifth annual BettingPros Guide to The Masters. We'll take a deep dive into the field, taking a closer look at the players contending for the coveted Green Jacket. Which players provide betting value and which are bad bets? Read on.

Course History

Russell Henley will be making his 10th Masters appearance. He hasn’t seriously contended at Augusta, but Henley finished fourth in 2023, and he was inside the top 15 in 2017 and 2018. His career scoring average at Augusta is 72.41.

Recent Form

Although he has yet to record a top-five finish in 2026, Henley has five top-20 finishes in seven starts, including top-10 finishes at the American Express and the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Henley missed the cut at last week’s Valero Texas Open but may have been less than fully motivated to spend the weekend as an also-ran in San Antonio ahead of Masters Week.

2026 Masters Outlook & Predictions

Russel Henley is one of the most accurate drivers on the PGA Tour. He’s terrific with his irons, and he’s one of the best putters in the world - although Henley putts best on Bermuda greens, and Augusta’s greens are bentgrass. The biggest issue for Henley at Augusta is his lack of distance off the tee, which makes it harder to score on par-5s and gives Henley the handicap of longer approach shots. But Zach Johnson has a Green Jacket, proving it’s not impossible for a bunter to win at Augusta.

Henley was born in Georgia, attended college at the University of Georgia and still lives in Georgia. The Masters is something of a home game for Henley, a world-class player capable of making a serious run at a Green Jacket. Don’t be surprised if he contends this week.

Betting Outlook: 2026 Masters Picks

At odds of 42-1 to win outright, Henley is fairly priced. He’s a five-time winner on the PGA Tour, and while he hasn’t won a major yet, the 36-year-old Henley certainly has enough game to win a big one. The question is whether a lack of power off the tee will prevent Henley from ever being part of the Green Jacket ceremony in the Butler Cabin. I would be more inclined to bet Henley for a top-five finish (+600) or a top-10 finish (+255) than for an outright.
