2026 Masters Picks & Predictions: Xander Schauffele
The best golfers in the world will be in Augusta, Georgia, this week for the first major of the year, The Masters. We’re going to share our top 2026 Masters picks and predictions.
Augusta National Golf Club is simultaneously a feast for the eyes and a stern test of golfing acumen. The Georgia pines and blooming azaleas highlight Augusta's beauty, but this world-renowned course demands precise ballstriking and short-game excellence.
Rory McIlroy had an epic victory at last year's Masters to earn his first Green Jacket. Can he successfully defend his title, or will the No. 1 player in the world, Scottie Scheffler, win at Augusta for the third time in five years? PGA Tour stars Ludvig Aberg and Xander Schauffele are looking for a career-altering victory, and big-hitting LIV Tour stalwarts Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau will be in the hunt.

Course History
When Tiger Woods won a thrilling Masters in 2019, Schauffele was one of the three players who finished in a tie for second one shot back. In 2021, Schauffele finished tied for third, three shots behind winner Hideki Matsuyama. Those were Schauffele’s two best Masters finishes. He hasn’t seriously contended since 2021, but he’s managed to sneak inside the top 10 in each of his last three appearances. His career Masters scoring average is 71.30.
Recent Form
Schauffele got off to a slow start in 2026, missing the cut at the Farmers Insurance Open and finishing 41st at the Phoenix Open. But in the five PGA Tour events he’s played since, he’s finished no worse than 24th. In his last two tourneys, Schauffele finished third at the Players Championship and fourth at the Valspar Championship.

2026 Masters Outlook & Predictions
Schauffele’s superb all-around game is well-suited to the toughest venues in professional golf. He won the PGA Championship and the Open Championship in 2024, so we know he’s capable of closing the deal in majors. The short-game struggles that plagued Schauffele in 2025 appear to be gone, and he arrives at Augusta National in good form.
Betting Outlook: 2026 Masters Picks
Perhaps because of his low-key demeanor, Schauffele sometimes flies under the radar in golf’s biggest events, even though he’s on the shortlist of the best players in the world. There’s betting value on Schauffele at +1850. And his top-five (+305) and top-10 (+138) odds as of this writing have some appeal, too.
