Sunday's Best Women’s NCAA Tournament Picks & Predictions: Elite 8

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Notre Dame Fighting Irish (+4000) vs. Connecticut Huskies (-27.5) | O/U 141.5 (-110/-110)

Notre Dame has gone 21-14 against the O/U vs. 141.5 points this season. However, they have cashed the Under vs. 141.5 in two of their three games in this tournament. They have also gone under this number in four of six games dating back to the second round of the ACC Tournament. The Irish are locked in defensively and playing grind it out scoring games since the clock has turned to March, cashing the under in five of seven games this month.

UConn is 15-22 vs. an O/U of 141.5 this season. That’s right, this is a situation in which the Huskies have a losing record? It’s hyper-specific but the Huskies have actually only had one month with a winning record against this number and that was all the way back in a 4-3 November. Since then, they have gone 3-4 (Dec), 3-5 (Jan), 2-6 (Feb) and 3-4 (Mar). The Huskies are 5-10 against this number since the start of February and 8-15 since the calendar flipped to 2026. The Huskies have cashed the Under vs. 141.5 in one of their three games in this tournament, but one of the games hit 142 exactly. They have also gone under this number in three of six games dating back to the second round of the Big East Tournament.

This game is going to be a slugfest with both teams capable of stopping the other for stretches. Notre Dame guard Hannah Hidalgo notched a triple-double in the Irish’s 67-64 Sweet 16 upset of the No.2 seed Vanderbilt Commodores. I bring this up because one of the “doubles” was her 10 steals! The 5’7″ junior is a pickpocket who is constantly aggressive with her hands. She will be in Azzi Fudd’s hip pocket all day to the point Paige Bueckers is going to get jealous.

Notre Dame is 34-2 ATS vs. a number of +27.5 this season. They have also covered this number in 17 straight contests since a January 19 loss on the road at Gampel Arena to these same Huskies. These Irish are playing at a whole different level defensively and this UConn squad Geno Auriemma has this year is a machine. However, 28 points is a tough ask the way points should be at a premium today. There simply might not be enough points to go around.

The moneyline in this game opened at +5000, has gone OFF, and is back on at +4000. I sprinkled half a unit on it because the 40x return is simply toooo good.

Pick: Under 141.5 Total Points (-110) & Notre Dame +27.5 (-110)
