(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Spain (-1200) vs. Cape Verde (+2800), DRAW (+1100) | O/U 3.5 (-115/-110

The day gets started in Georgia, with tournament co-favorites Spain (+450) taking on Cape Verde in the opener. Kick-off is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. ET from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, GA.

Spain is an absolute juggernaut, and I expect this experienced group to come out roaring on Monday. I'm laying the 1.5 goals in the first half with the reigning World Cup champions.

Cape Verde has actually looked sharp in its lead-up contests to the World Cup, but I'm willing to bet against them in this battle versus the tournament favorites.

In its six qualifiers for the World Cup, Spain went 5-1-0, outscoring its opposition 19-2. That includes a run of five consecutive clean sheets. With their elite offensive talent and a proven back line, Spain should have no issues getting off to a quick start.

Bet: Spain First-Half -1.5 (+110)

Belgium (-175) vs. Egypt (+500), DRAW (+295) | O/U 2.5 (-105/-120

This match between Belgium and Egypt pits the Group G favorites against one another right out of the gate. The European nation is -245 to win the group, while Egypt sits at +400. Kick-off is set for 3:00 p.m. ET from Lumen Field in Seattle, WA.

I'll be on the over in this mid-day contest. There are prolific goal scorers on both ends of the pitch here, with notable players like Romelu Lukaku, Kevin De Bruyne, and Mohamed Salah competing.

For Belgium specifically, when they win, they tend to do so in a big way. Across their 7-3-0 unbeaten run leading up to the World Cup, they netted at least four goals in six of the wins. There's a realistic chance they clear this total by themselves.

But, as I mentioned, with a dynamic player like Salah on the opposite end, I won't be surprised if Egypt helps contribute a goal as well. They've scored at least once in three of their last four matches, with the outlier being a 0-0 friendly draw against Spain. There's no shame in getting blanked by Spain. Let's ride with the over in this one.

Bet: Over 2.5 Goals (-105)

Saudi Arabia (+700) vs. Uruguay (-220), DRAW (+340) | O/U 2.5 (+110/-135

This is a pivotal match right out of the gate in Group H. Spain is nearly a lock to advance from the group, leaving one other guaranteed spot up for grabs. The South American nation is a sizable -220 favorite to secure the win on Monday. Kick-off is slated for 6:00 p.m. ET from Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, FL.

I'm taking the under in this match. As I mentioned, the stakes are incredibly high in this opener, as both teams will be looking to snag at least a point. I think this could lead to a slightly more conservative approach on both sides.

The trends also favor the under in this one. Per Flashscore, the under on this line has hit in 18 of Uruguay's last 23 international contests. Saudi Arabia has also only seen both teams score in five of its last 13 games.

Saudi Arabia's offense could ultimately hold this game under. They're just 2-1-5 in their last eight matches, getting shut out in four of those games. Uruguay has held its opposition scoreless in five of its last eight outings. This should be a lower-scoring affair, so let's take the under.

Bet: Under 2.5 Goals (-135

Iran (-105) vs. New Zealand (+340), DRAW (+230) | O/U 2.5 (+145/-180

The fourth match scheduled for Monday wraps up out West, with Iran and New Zealand squaring off in a Group G showdown. The teams are priced at -200 and +150, respectively, to qualify for the knockout stage. The finale gets underway at 9:00 p.m. ET from SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA.

I'll be backing Iran in this game. In the FIFA Men’s World Ranking, 85th-ranked New Zealand is the lowest-ranked team in the tournament. They've never won a World Cup game, going 0-3-3 on the biggest stage.

Iran is actually a respectable 20th in the rankings, despite not really being on many people's radar as a top contender on the pitch. They've won their last three matches overall, outscoring the opposition 10-1. I think they'll prevail against this New Zealand side that's 1-0-5 in its last six matches, getting shut out in four of those games.

Bet: Iran Moneyline (-105)
