2026 World Cup Picks & Predictions: Wednesday (6/24)
Six matches will be played on Wednesday as Groups A, B and C are decided. Mexico is the only team playing that has officially secured a place in the knockout stage, though it would be shocking if Morocco, Brazil and Canada didn't also advance. Below, I discuss why I expect very few goals when Bosnia-Herzegovina faces Qatar and South Korea battles South Africa. Then, I highlight why Switzerland has what it takes to ruin Canada's chances of winning Group B. Here are the best 2026 World Cup picks for Wednesday, June 24th.

Bosnia-Herzegovina vs. Qatar
Bosnia-Herzegovina and Qatar will both be looking for a win to try to advance in the World Cup. However, while these two teams enter with the same number of points, I don't expect this to be a very evenly matched game.
Bosnia-Herzegovina has been excellent defensively throughout this tournament. Sure, they allowed four goals to Switzerland. However, the first wasn't scored until the 74th minute, and the next three were scored after Tarik Muharemović received a red card.
Meanwhile, Qatar didn't put a single shot on target against Canada and possessed the ball for just 21% of the game. While Qatar put three shots on net and scored once against Switzerland, this team is really not threatening at all offensively.
Bosnia-Herzegovina is a defensive-minded team, so I don't expect them to blow out Qatar, but I still don’t think Qatar has what it takes to score in this match.
Pick: Qatar Team Total Under 0.5 Goals (+113)
Switzerland vs. Canada
Sticking with Group B, I love Switzerland in this match. The Swiss had a really ugly start to the tournament, tying Qatar 1-1. However, in that match, Switzerland put seven shots on goal and had five big chances. The Swiss just failed to capitalize on all their opportunities.
The story looked the same in Switzerland's second match, until Johan Manzambi scored in the 74th minute. While Switzerland's next three goals came while playing up a man, I think the offensive onslaught at the end of the last match awakened the Swiss offense in what is actually a crucial match.
Canada will win Group B with a draw, so Switzerland needs to go for the win. And while Canada has conceded just one goal in two matches, Switzerland has now scored four goals in two of its last four competitive contests.
Pick: Switzerland Moneyline (+145) and Over 2.5 Goals (+110)
South Africa vs. South Korea
South Africa managed to steal a point against Czechia, with Teboho Mokoena netting a penalty-kick goal in the 83rd minute. While the goal means that South Africa can advance with a win against South Korea, I don't feel very confident in this offense.
While South Africa finished with 1.38 expected goals against Czechia, they didn't create a single big chance. Through two matches, South Africa has yet to create a big chance, producing just four shots on target. The South Africans will have their hands full with a South Korean defense that has conceded just two goals thus far.
However, for as bad as South Africa's offense has been, the defense has been excellent. The unit allowed a goal in the sixth minute against Czechia, then became impenetrable for the remaining 84 minutes plus stoppage time.
While Mexico scored twice against South Africa, one of those goals came while up a man. It's honestly impressive that South Africa gave up just one goal in 41 minutes while playing down a man in that environment.
South Korea didn't score against Mexico, but did find the back of the net twice against Czechia. That said, it took a long time for the offense to get going in that match, and I think we're in for another slow-moving game between these two teams. Both have a lot to gain from a win, but I don't think either offense is good enough to do anything about it.
Pick: Under 2.5 Goals (-130)
