2026 World Cup Picks: South Africa vs. South Korea (Wednesday)
Six matches will be played on Wednesday as Groups A, B and C are decided. Mexico is the only team playing that has officially secured a place in the knockout stage, though it would be shocking if Morocco, Brazil and Canada didn't also advance. Below, I discuss why I expect very few goals when Bosnia-Herzegovina faces Qatar and South Korea battles South Africa. Then, I highlight why Switzerland has what it takes to ruin Canada's chances of winning Group B. Here are the best 2026 World Cup picks for Wednesday, June 24th’s game South Africa vs. South Korea.

South Africa vs. South Korea
South Africa managed to steal a point against Czechia, with Teboho Mokoena netting a penalty-kick goal in the 83rd minute. While the goal means that South Africa can advance with a win against South Korea, I don't feel very confident in this offense.
While South Africa finished with 1.38 expected goals against Czechia, they didn't create a single big chance. Through two matches, South Africa has yet to create a big chance, producing just four shots on target. The South Africans will have their hands full with a South Korean defense that has conceded just two goals thus far.
However, for as bad as South Africa's offense has been, the defense has been excellent. The unit allowed a goal in the sixth minute against Czechia, then became impenetrable for the remaining 84 minutes plus stoppage time.
While Mexico scored twice against South Africa, one of those goals came while up a man. It's honestly impressive that South Africa gave up just one goal in 41 minutes while playing down a man in that environment.
South Korea didn't score against Mexico, but did find the back of the net twice against Czechia. That said, it took a long time for the offense to get going in that match, and I think we're in for another slow-moving game between these two teams. Both have a lot to gain from a win, but I don't think either offense is good enough to do anything about it.
Pick: Under 2.5 Goals (-130)
