NFL Week 2 Bets to Fade

Odds via DraftKings Sportsbook

Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jets

Avoid Betting Breece Hall Under 56.5 Rushing Yards (-115)

  • Hall had 19 rushing attempts for 107 yards last week, hitting the century mark for the first time since Week 6 last season against the Bills (113).
  • The former Iowa State star has averaged 12 rushing attempts for 77 yards per game in four career matchups against Buffalo, totaling 100 or more twice.
  • Last week, the Bills gave up 169 rushing yards to Derrick Henry on 18 attempts. Unfortunately, they won't have Ed Oliver because of an ankle injury on Sunday.

Instead, Bet Josh Palmer Over 30.5 Receiving Yards (-115)

  • New York will likely have Sauce Gardner shadow Keon Coleman after his performance last week. Therefore, Palmer will spend most of the game matched up against Brandon Stephens.
  • According to PFF, Stephens gave up 60 receiving yards and two touchdowns on five receptions in coverage against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 1.
  • Palmer had five receptions on nine targets for 61 receiving yards against the Baltimore Ravens last week, finishing second on the team in targets behind Coleman (11).

Cleveland Browns vs. Baltimore Ravens

Avoid Betting David Njoku Under 37.5 Receiving Yards (-115)

  • Last week, Harold Fannin Jr. stole the show, recording 63 receiving yards on nine targets. Yet, Njoku played more snaps, totaling six targets for 37 receiving yards.
  • Baltimore surrendered seven receptions for 97 receiving yards to the Buffalo Bills' tight ends last week. Three Bills tight ends had at least 20 yards, with Dalton Kincaid totaling 48.
  • Njoku has averaged 5.7 receptions on 7.7 targets for 55 receiving yards per game over his past three matchups against the Ravens, totaling 46 or more yards in every contest.

Instead, Bet Cedric Tillman Over 42.5 Receiving Yards (-110)

  • The Ravens couldn't stop the Bills' passing offense last week, especially in the fourth quarter. Three Buffalo wide receivers had at least 61 receiving yards, with Keon Coleman totaling 112.
  • Tillman has been a star since taking over as a starter last season, averaging 5.2 receptions on 8.7 targets for 63.7 receiving yards per game over his past six outings.
  • Furthermore, Tillman has had at least 47 receiving yards in five of those games, including 52 last week and a career-high 99 in the matchup against Baltimore last year.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Avoid Betting Travis Etienne Jr. Under 2.5 Receptions (-110)

  • Last week, Etienne was the featured running back for Jacksonville, totaling 65.5% of the backfield workload, including 75% of the targets. He caught all three targets in Week 1.
  • The Jaguars traded away Tank Bigsby earlier this week, creating more opportunities for Etienne. He gets an excellent matchup in Week 2 against the Bengals.
  • Cincinnati gave up 4.4 receptions per game to running backs last year. Furthermore, they surrendered eight receptions to Dylan Sampson in Week 1, the third-most in the NFL.

Instead, Bet Brenton Strange Over 32.5 Receiving Yards (-110)

  • Strange had a solid performance in Week 1, catching all four of his targets for 59 receiving yards. He led the Jaguars in yards last week, finishing eighth in the NFL among tight ends.
  • The veteran should see an uptick in receiving work on Sunday. Reportedly, Jacksonville plans to give Travis Hunter more snaps on defense because of Cincinnati's elite wide receiver duo.
  • Last week, the Bengals surrendered 10 receptions for 100 receiving yards to the Cleveland Browns' tight ends, with Harold Fannin Jr. and David Njoku each having at least 37.
