NFL Week 8 Bets to Fade
Odds via DraftKings Sportsbook
New York Jets vs. Cincinnati Bengals
Avoid Betting Breece Hall Under 60.5 Rushing Yards (-125)
- Unfortunately, the Jets have struggled to run the ball lately. Hall has had 59 or fewer rushing yards in back-to-back games against solid run defenses.
- However, he has averaged 64 yards per game this season, totaling 81 or more in nearly half of the contests, including two of the past four outings.
- Cincinnati has surrendered 859 yards to running backs this year (122.7 per game), the second-most in the NFL. They've given up over 100 yards to running backs in six consecutive games.
Instead, Bet Tee Higgins Over 50.5 Receiving Yards (-135)
- Higgins has averaged 45.1 receiving yards per game this season, totaling 33 or fewer in 57.1% of the contests, including four of five outings with Joe Burrow or Jake Browning under center.
- However, he has been outstanding since the Bengals traded for Joe Flacco, averaging nine targets and 79 yards per game, totaling at least eight and 62 in both contests.
- The Jets won't have Sauce Gardner or Michael Carter II because of injury. More importantly, they've surrendered 68.7 yards per game to No. 2 wide receivers this year, including 92 to Xavier Legette last week.
Miami Dolphins vs. Atlanta Falcons
Avoid Betting Bijan Robinson Under 88.5 Rushing Yards (+100)
- Last week, Robinson had only 40 rushing yards against the San Francisco 49ers, his lowest total since Week 1. However, he had been on fire before the matchup against a talented 49ers run defense.
- The former Texas star averaged 115 yards per game over his previous four contests, totaling 143 or more twice, including in Week 6 against the Buffalo Bills.
- Miami has given up the most yards to running backs this season, allowing 128.3 per game. They've allowed 91 or more yards to running backs in every contest, including over 135 twice in the past three weeks.
Instead, Bet Bijan Robinson Over 35.5 Receiving Yards (-110)
- Not only is Robinson an elite runner, but the former Texas star has been one of the best pass-catching running backs in the NFL this year, averaging 65 receiving yards per game.
- He is second in yards per game among running backs, only behind Christian McCaffrey (73.7). Robinson has had at least 39 yards in all but one game, including 66.7% of the contests with over 50.
- The Dolphins have surrendered the seventh-most yards to running backs this season, allowing 41.3 per game. They gave up 35 or more yards to running backs in nearly half the games, including 119 in Week 2.
Dallas Cowboys vs. Denver Broncos
Avoid Betting Jake Ferguson Under 39.5 Receiving Yards (-140)
- Ferguson has been a massive part of the Cowboys' passing attack, averaging 47.7 receiving yards per game, totaling 40 or more in 57.1% of the contests.
- The veteran tight end has averaged 55.6 yards per game in the five contests with at least seven targets, including 78 or more twice.
- Denver has struggled to defend tight ends, allowing 52.7 yards per game this year. Last week, Theo Johnson (66) and Daniel Bellinger (88) each had at least 65 yards against the Broncos.
Instead, Bet Courtland Sutton Over 58.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
- Sutton has been Bo Nix's only consistent and reliable weapon in the passing game this season, averaging a team-high 67 receiving yards per game.
- The veteran has had 61 or more yards in five of seven games, including all three home contests. Last week, he had 87 yards against the New York Giants, his third-highest total this year.
- Dallas won't have Trevon Diggs on Sunday because of a concussion. More importantly, they've surrendered 1,182 yards per game to wide receivers (168.9 per game), the third-most in the NFL.
