Sports are picking back up, but they’re taking a necessary backseat to protests around the world. Sports can be a nice distraction from the world around us, though, so if you need a break from the bad news, here are the top five live events to bet this weekend.

1. UFC 250: Nunes vs. Spencer

Where: 888sport, FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, FOX Bet, William Hill.
When:  Saturday at 10:00 PM EST (ESPN+).

Amanda Nunes is back in action this Saturday. The MMA star has beaten Ronda Rousey, Holly Holm, and Cris Cyborg — and Felicia Spencer is likely to be the next on her list.

The headliner’s betting line isn’t that interesting. Nunes is at -625 and Spencer at +450, so you’re better off finding another line — or another fight — to wager on.

Nunes knocked out both Cyborg and Rousey in under a minute, and I expect her to knock Spencer out as well. Although Spencer’s only UFC loss went the distance, it came against Cyborg, who lasted 51 seconds against Nunes.

You can take Nunes to win by KO, TKO, or DQ at -182 on DraftKings. Those are much more profitable odds than what you can get on the moneyline, and you can double your winnings with a special offer from the sportsbook. Yes, there’s added risk, but this is how I’d approach the feature event.

2. Bundesliga

Where: 888sport, FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, FOX Bet, William Hill.
When:  Games run all weekend long.

German soccer will fade in importance after this week, as both La Liga and the English Premier League will resume play.

Before that happens, though, it’s still a top betting option. This weekend, 10th-place Schalke take on 14th-place FC Union Berlin. Both squads are in the bottom five for goals scored — they both average 1.17 goals per game. Mid-pack defenses support their unremarkable offenses: Schalke ranks eighth and Berlin 11th.

Over at BetMGM, you can tap the under 2.5 goals at -139. That’s a safe bet, as both offenses combine to average fewer goals per game, and their adequate defensive play shouldn’t be too exploitable. If you’re feeling bold, consider tapping the under 1.5 goals at +200.

3. Portuguese Premier League

Where: 888sport, FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, FOX Bet, William Hill.
When: Games run all weekend long.

It’s not La Liga, but it’s close — well, geographically. The Portuguese Premier League’s is 25 games old, but we’ve got two clear-cut leaders: Benfica and FC Porto. Neither squad plays this weekend, however, so let’s look at a less eye-popping matchup.

Aves takes on Belenenses this weekend in what should be a low-scoring affair. Aves has the third-best defense in the league, as they’re surrendering fewer than a goal per game. And while Belenenses’s defense is the third-worst (they give up 1.58 goals per game), Aves’ offense isn’t that good. They average just 1.33 goals per game, and I doubt they’ll be able to capitalize upon Belenenses’s weaknesses.

Surprisingly, Belenenses is the betting favorite, as they’re the home team. With moneyline odds at +190, I’d punch Aves to win this match. That said, I’m more confident about playing the over/under, and you can buy the under 2.5 goals at -158 on FanDuel.

4. NASCAR Racing at Atlanta Motor Speedway

Where: FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, FOX Bet, William Hill.
When: Sunday at 3:00 PM EST (FOX).

NASCAR hits the banks of Atlanta Motor Speedway on Sunday. Atlanta’s date was the first one postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and while there won’t be fans in attendance, this is another dose of normal for NASCAR fans.

Betting on NASCAR can be difficult, as luck can often determine the final result. No one knows this better than Brad Keselowski, as the Team Penske driver has scored two upset wins in the last five races. But despite Keselowski’s two wins and 1.33-place average finish over the previous three races here, he’s not my recommended play this weekend.

Kevin Harvick is the betting favorite here, and he’s my play for this one. He’s had the car to beat in most races this year, and his sixth-place average finish is five spots better than next-best Joey Logano. Harvick also has the highest average driver rating this season and has led the most laps. Punch him in to win at +500 or to finish top-5 at -112. Brad Keselowski to finish top-5 (+138) is another intriguing option on DraftKings.

5. Korean Baseball

Where: 888sport, FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, FOX Bet, William Hill.
When:  Games run all weekend long.

Major League Baseball is struggling to find a plan for resuming the season, but the Korean Baseball Organization is in full swing. Games get underway early in the mornings every day this weekend, so make sure to put your bets down early!

The league plays five three-game series Friday through Sunday, and if you’re betting on KBO, keep an eye out for changes in the betting lines. I’m a big fan of playing the under in any of the NC Dinos’ games, as their elite pitching posts a league-best ERA, and they’ve surrendered only 106 runs.

The Dinos take on the Hanwha Eagles this weekend, and they’re the perfect target to play the under against, as the Eagles have a league-worst 94 total runs. On FanDuel, the line sits at 10.5. Punch the under at -118 if it stays the same for Saturday’s game.
