Avalanche vs. Lightning Game 3: Top Stanley Cup Final Prop Bet Odds & Picks (6/20)

Game 3 of the 2022 NHL Stanley Cup Final is set to get underway as the Tampa Bay Lightning host the Colorado Avalanche. Despite only two teams left to square off this season, there are still a couple of great angles to attack in the prop betting market.

Below, I give out my two best NHL player prop bets for Monday.

As a reminder, I play all player props for a half-unit each during the playoffs or 0.5% of your betting bankroll. Follow me on Twitter to get all my plays on days without full write-ups.

Avalanche vs. Lightning Game 3: Top Stanley Cup Final Prop Bet Odds & Picks

Ross Colton Under 1.5 Shots on Goal (Odds Not Yet Out – Play Up to -120)

The Tampa Bay Lightning return home trailing 2-0 in the series as they dropped both games on the road. After successfully hitting this prop in Game 2, I am returning to the well again.

While I do expect a better performance from Tampa Bay and for them to possibly win Game 3, I do not expect their shooting to skyrocket back up. Colorado has controlled the pace of play and the offensive zone in each of the first two games of this series, which has resulted in fewer shots on goal for the Lightning.

Through the first two games, the Lightning has only mustered 39 shots on goal with an average of a mere 19.5 shots per game. Not only has Ross Colton gone under this total in those two games, but he has now gone under this total in six straight playoff games.

Cale Makar Over 3.5 Shots on Goal (+132)

Establishing himself as not only the best defenseman but one of the best hockey players in the world, Cale Makar continued his playoff dominance in Game 2 as he scored two goals on four shots. Makar went over this total in Game 2, and he has now gone over this number in five of his last eight games (63%).

As I mentioned above, Colorado has controlled this series’s pace and the offensive zone. This style of play has led to Colorado generating plenty of shots on net as they are averaging 34 shots on goal per game through the first two contests of this series.

If this trend continues, then Makar should be able to get over this total once again. His confidence is at an all-time high, and he will be out there for around 25 minutes once again as Bednar knows he will need his best guys out there as much as possible for their first road game of this series.

Best of luck!
