Avalanche vs. Lightning Game 4: Top Stanley Cup Final Prop Bet Odds & Picks (6/22)

Game 4 of the 2022 NHL Stanley Cup Final is set to get underway as the Tampa Bay Lightning host the Colorado Avalanche. Despite only two teams left to square off this season, there are still a couple of great angles to attack in the prop betting market.

Below, I give out my two best NHL player prop bets for Wednesday.

As a reminder, I play all player props for a half-unit each during the playoffs or 0.5% of your betting bankroll. Follow me on Twitter to get all my plays on days without full write-ups.

Avalanche vs. Lightning Game 4: Top Stanley Cup Final Prop Bet Odds & Picks

Ross Colton Under 1.5 Shots on Goal (-110)

The Tampa Bay Lightning looks to even up the series at two-games-a-piece after Monday’s 6-2 victory. After successfully hitting this prop in both Gams 2 and Game 3, I am returning to the well again.

Despite winning by four goals on Monday, the Lightning was out-shot once again. In every game this series, Colorado has controlled the pace of play and the offensive zone for most of the game, which obviously results in fewer shot attempts for Tampa Bay.

Through the first three games, the Lightning has only mustered 73 shots on goal with an average of a mere 24.3 shots per game. While Tampa Bay’s shooting increased in Game 3, Colton’s did not.

Not only did Colton go under this total in Game 3, but he has now gone under this number in seven straight playoff games.

Cale Makar Over 3.5 Shots on Goal (+132)

We are returning to the well on another player prop we hit in Game 3, backing Colorado defenseman Cale Makar again. After accepting his Norris Trophy on Tuesday night, Makar has the hardware to prove that Makar is the best defenseman in the world.

Although, Makar certainly did not need a trophy to prove this fact, as he is not only one of the best defensemen in the world but one of the best players in the world. Regardless, last night’s ceremony certainly can not hurt Makar’s confidence.

Makar went over this total in Game 3, and he has now gone over this number in six of his last nine playoff games (67%). As mentioned above, Colorado has controlled this series’ pace and the offensive zone.

Their style of play has led to Colorado generating plenty of shots on net as they are averaging 35.7 shots on goal per game through the first three contests of this series. If this trend continues, Makar should be able to get over this total once again.

Best of luck!
