Entering the fifth week of play, the Belarusian Premier League has been a mainstay of the sporting world since the COVID-19 pandemic began shutting leagues down over a month ago. Showing a consistency unheard of these days, the league has provided soccer fans and bettors action each weekend of their 2020 regular season.
Due to Easter celebrations taking place this week in Belarus, our new favorite league has Sunday off, and that makes for a packed slate of action throughout the day tomorrow.
Let’s look at one game I have my eye on for Saturday afternoon.

BATE Borisov (-245) vs. Torpedo Belaz Zhodino (+540), 1:00 PM EST (via DraftKings Sportsbook)
You can’t mention Belarusian soccer without bringing up the name BATE Borisov. Prior to last year, BATE won the league championship 13-straight seasons, which ended last year in a runner-up campaign. To start this one, BATE stumbled out of the gates, but they have now won two straight as they look to climb the table yet again.
Last weekend’s match was easily their best of the season, as they won 3-o on the road against FC Minsk — and they dominated every aspect of the game. Registering 13 shots, including nine on target, BATE created nearly double the chances of their opponent.
On the other side of this prime-time affair, Torpedo Zhodino has had one of the most surprising starts to the season as they’ve so far defied their detractors. Through their first four games, the club has won three with one of the strongest goal differentials (+2) in the league.
Last week, they knocked off the team at the top of the table in Energetik-BGU with a 2-0 home victory. Prior to last week, Zhodino had played relatively weaker teams, and they will get their toughest test of this season as they hit the road to play a surging BATE squad.
We’ve been riding it all season, and here lies another spot to play our favorite trend in Vysshaya Liga: the UNDER. Prior to last week’s showing, BATE was averaging one goal a game, and Torpedo is still averaging just one a game.
I’ll take the under in a league that continues to turn in 1-0 and 1-1 results regularly.
