Another week of the sporting shutdowns brings us another week of the Belarus Premier League (BPL) as the focus of the sporting world. As we enter week seven of regular season play, the identity of teams is starting to take shape, as squads make their push up (and fall down) the table.
With not much in the way of action for sports fans (and bettors) on the weekends, the BPL has been a great source of entertainment and should continue to improve as players find their form.
One match on Saturday stands above the rest, as it pits two of the most exciting teams head to head. Let’s take a look at the two teams involved and the edge I’ve identified for us to start the weekend off as a winner.

Dinamo Minsk (-167) vs. FC Slutsk (+390), 11:00 AM EST (via DraftKings Sportsbook)
Currently sitting right in the middle of the table, Dinamo Minsk is fresh off their best performance of the season, a 3-1 road win over Smolveichi last week. With the win, Dinamo has won three of their last four, scoring at least two goals in each of the winning matches.
Their sole loss over that stretch was a hard-fought road contest at Gorodeya, a 0-1 defeat where they possessed the ball for large stretches but failed to find the back of the net.
After the fall of Energetik-BGU since the start of the season, FC Slutsk has been the most surprising team of the young BPL season, currently sitting at the top of the table with 13 points. Goals have come seemingly easy for Slutsk, scoring 12 of them in six matches to average the highest goals for in the league with two per game.
Viewed as the legends of the BPL, Dinamo Minsk appears to be hitting their stride at the right time, and I expect them to continue their quest to the top of the table with what turns out to be an easy win in this one. Though Slutsk has been impressive this far, I think they catch Dinamo at the wrong time, hungry to prove they are still one of the league’s elite.
