With the English Premier League slated to begin next week, and the German Bundesliga already well underway, the rest of the sporting world is creeping out of the shutdown. Halfway across the world, however, the Belarus Premier League (BPL) has yet to miss a beat.
Starting its season on schedule now over 13 weeks ago, the BPL hasn’t missed a single game, all while allowing fans to attend each and every one. Since the beginning, I’ve been watching and cashing tickets along the way, and I see no reason to stop now with what I expect to be an even weaker market, as the big boys of soccer are taking center stage.
With that said, let’s take a look at an early morning match I have my eye on for Sunday.

Energetik BGU (-200) vs. FC Belshina Bobruisk (+420): Sunday, 9:00 AM EST (via DraftKings Sportsbook)
Known as one of the best up-and-coming teams in the league, Energetik BGU enters this match as the heavy favorite — and for good reason. Securing 10 points over their last five matches, Energetik sits at fourth place in the table, trailing third by only a slight goal differential.
The last time we saw them on the pitch was their first defeat in over a month, a 0-1 defeat at the feet of Shakhter, a team I see as the league’s strongest.
Sitting with a current goal differential of -18, Belshina Bobruisk comes into this match as easily the worst team in the league. With a record of 0-3-9, the club has lost four of their last five, and they sit at the bottom of the table with just three points to their names.
Their last time out ended in a 0-4 defeat at home to Dinamo Minsk, one of the more average teams in the league.
While I never like laying this kind of juice, especially in soccer, Belshina Bobruisk’s play is worth the price of admission. Sitting near the top of the table as they approach the middle part of the season, I expect a sense of urgency from Energetik as they look to make their move.
