Week seven of the Belarusian Premier League (BPL) is upon us, as the 2020 season approaches its 1/3rd mark in a few weeks in what’s been an entertaining two months. With the eyes of the sporting world on them, the on-field product has gotten better each week, and the players and coaches are enjoying their newfound fame.

In addition to regular league play, like the rest of European soccer, the BPL participates in their own Cup tournament. That takes place midseason, and its scores are separate from the regular season games. The semifinals wrapped up this week, with the finals slotted for May 24th.

With the regular schedule now resuming in time for the weekend, let’s take a look at a game involving one of the Belarusian Cup finalists that I have my eye on for Sunday.

FC Belshina Bobruisk (+370) vs. Dinamo Brest (-175), 11:00 AM EST (via DraftKings Sportsbook)

After winning the first leg of the semis in the Belarusian Cup 2-0, Dinamo Brest nearly squandered their aggregate lead by losing 2-4 on Wednesday and needed a tiebreaker to advance. Doing so would’ve been on track with how they’ve played as of late in league play.

Over their last four regular-season matches, Brest has lost three of four and have failed to score a goal since April 12th. The reigning league champs will be looking to get back on track in this one against a league bottom-dweller.

On the other side of this contest, Belshina Bobruisk comes into the match as the worst team in the league in nearly all measurable stats. Being just one of two teams yet to secure a win this campaign, Belshina comes in with the worst goal differential in the league (-5).

The past two weeks did show some signs of encouragement for Belshina supporters, however. Prior to last week’s 2-3 defeat, Belshina secured their second point of the season with a 1-1 draw. This to say, the past two weeks have seen more Belshina goals than the prior five combined.

Though we’ve ridden the under in this league thus far, quite successfully, this is a spot I like the over in. With Brest losing earlier in the week, I expect them to come out with a renewed focus on the offensive side of the ball and for each team to find the back of the net at least once.

Pick: Over 2.5
