With soccer slowly creeping back throughout Europe, one league in the eastern part of the continent has been at it since the start of the coronavirus pandemic: the Belarusian Premier League (BPL).

Now entering its 12th week of regular season play, the BPL is kicking into high gear as the top teams keep rising while the weaker teams sink.

As the German Bundesliga and English Premier League recapture the main stage in the soccer betting world, the BPL continues to generate a profit, and I see no reason to stop betting on it now.

With that said, let’s take a look at a Sunday morning match I have my eye on.

FC Belshina Bobruisk (+540) vs. Dinamo Minsk (-230): Sunday, 11:00 AM EST (via DraftKings Sportsbook)

Coming into the season as the winningest team in the history of the BPL, Dinamo Minsk has sputtered thus far by playing to a record of 4-1-6. Over their last five, they have a record of 1-1-3, and they have failed to find any kind of rhythm in what’s been a season of tests.

In their last time out, Dinamo Minsk played well against one of the best teams in the league for 90 minutes, losing a 0-1 decision to the surging Shakhter. That club has now won four of their last five.

On the other side of this Belarusian affair, Belshina Bobruisk enters this one as the clear-cut worst team in the league. Sitting at the bottom of the table with a record of 0-3-8, Belshina has not only failed to find the win column, but they also haven’t played teams that close — they’re posting a goal differential of -14.

Their last time out, they lose a close 2-3 match to Slavia Mozyr.

In this one, Dinamo Minsk is the class of the contest, and they’re desperately in search of points as the season nears its halfway point. While I expect them to win, they’ve yet to turn into a performance that convinces me they can do so handily.

However, I do think that their superior ball skills and talents, combined with Belshina’s desperate need for a win themselves, will make for a high-scoring match that should sail over the 2.5 total.

Pick: OVER 2.5 (-139)
