Belarus Premier League (Vysshaya Liga): FC Minsk vs. Energetik-BGU Odds & Game Pick (2020)
With the majority of Europe’s top football leagues finishing up their regular season in the coming weeks, the Belarusian Premier League (BPL) will soon find themselves as the last league standing. Again.
Having yet to miss a single match or practice since the pandemic started up, the BPL will once again be the only show in town. Let’s take a look at a Sunday morning matchup that I expect to cash.

FC Minsk (+230) vs. Energetik-BGU (+105): Sunday, 9:45 AM EST
FC Minsk has just four wins and 15 points through the first 15 games of the season. That means relegation is very much in the cards for them after an uncharacteristically terrible season. They lost their most recent game, this one at home to crosstown rival Dinamo Minsk.
Over their last six matches, FC Minsk has scored just four goals, losing four of them. Their (-11) goal differential is the second-worst in the league, trailing just Belshina Bobruisk.
For Energetik-BGU, it’s hard to find a team in any sport that’s as volatile on a week-to-week basis. Currently sitting just outside UEFA Qualifiers (fourth) by a point, Energetik has beaten some of the best teams in the BPL. They have also lost to a few of the worst.
They posted one of the worst results any team has seen in the BPL last time out. Trailing 0-4 at the half to the visiting Rukh Brest, Energetik went on to allow four more second-half goals to finish with a 1-8 result. That’s just one week after knocking off the top-seeded BATE Borisov in a 1-0 match that they dominated for stretches.
Volatile.
Following the trend that Energetik has set for themselves, I expect a much better performance than we saw last week from the clearly more talented squad.
