As the rest of the soccer world begins to creep out from the shutdown, the Boys in Belarus are nearing the halfway point of what’s been an exciting start to the season. As we’re entering the 12th week of the regular season, the Belarusian Premier League (BPL) has made history by not missing a single match to date. Fans included.

While the league will surely get overshadowed by Bundesliga roaring into gear and the English Premier League slated to resume next week, the BPL offers softer lines than most that we’ve been capitalizing on all season long.

Let’s take a look at a match I have my eye on for Sunday morning.

Vitebsk (+525) vs. BATE Borisov (-200): Sunday, 9:00 AM EST (via DraftKings Sportsbook)

Having won the league 15 times, including 12-straight championships from 2006 to 2018, BATE Borisov is once again the class of the BPL in 2020. Having made appearances in the Europa League and Champions League (the only Belarusian team ever to do so), BATE is a cut above the rest in what is largely looked at as a mediocre league.

Looking back over their last three matches, BATE boasts a goal differential of +6, having won five straight with relative ease. Currently sitting in first place in the table, BATE will look to remain in control as the second half of the season gets underway in just a few weeks.

On the other side of this contest, Vitebsk comes in as one of the most average teams in the league. Having played to a draw in four of their last five, Vitebsk is a talented squad, but they tend to play to their opponent.

Their last time on the pitch can largely be looked at as a success, playing second-place Energetik-BGU to a 3-3 draw in a hotly contested match.

In this one, while the odds are a bit juicier than I typically like laying, I have to continue to ride the hot feet of BATE until I have a reason not to.

Pick: BATE Borisov (-200)
