When we last saw these teams square off the Bengals looked to be getting on a roll early in Week 17 at home in Cincinnati. The unfortunate events of that night led all football fans to hoping to see this rematch in the playoffs.

The injuries sustained to the Bengals’ offensive line in the weeks since are key to this matchup. With a fully healthy offensive line through the first 14 weeks, the Bengals ranked third in offensive DVOA. Since then, they’ve ranked only 13th and struggled in two matchups with against Ravens’ backup quarterbacks they won with fortunate turnovers in key situations. In the two matchups they were outgained 750 yards to 491 yards, 5.3 yards per play to 4.2 yards. This isn’t the same Bengal offense we saw all year without their offensive line fully healthy.

Buffalo will look to feed off a raucous home crowd. They’ve consistently been one of the best teams per DVOA all year, even producing the second best DVOA performance of the Wild Card Weekend despite a narrow win over Miami. The boxscore told a different story, as the Bills nearly doubled Miami’s offensive production.

Buffalo is the better team and at home there is every reason to back them here as favorites against Bengal team that isn’t 100% on offense. Expect a lot of offense, but the Bills should pull away.
