UTAH JAZZ @ BROOKLYN NETS – NBATV – 7:30 EST
This will be the 2nd matchup of the year between the Utah Jazz and the Brooklyn Nets. The 1st matchup of the year had Udoka Azubuike jumping against Nic Claxton, with Claxton winning the tip for the Nets but the Jazz (Royce O’Neale) scored 1st. This matchup will have Andre Drummond (77% Tip Win) facing against Rudy Gobert (57% Tip Win), in which these 2 faced against each other already this year when Drummond played for the 76ers and he won that tip and the 76ers scored 1st.
Drummond has won 6 straight tips and 9 of his L10, so I like Brooklyn to win the tip here and get the 1st look.
In addition to winning the tip in 6 straight, the Nets have scored 1st in 6 straight. In those games, Bruce Brown or Kevin Durant scored 1st Basket in 5 of them. The stout defensive pairing of Juan Hernangomez and Royce O’Neale will be put up to the task of guarding Brown and Durant – so, yeah, we’re playing them.
I’m not one to normally get excited about players at +370, but the early offense clearly runs through KD for the Nets. If you want to get better value, I’m also parlaying Kevin Durant & BKN ML to increase his odds. I will keep an eye out for opportunities to hedge if the Nets go up big at home. Bruce Brown has also been involved as much as anybody early, so I’ll play him too at +750.
