Which is your favorite bet for Offensive Rookie of the Year?

Kyler Murray (QB – ARI): +270
“There are two bets you can realistically make. The obvious choice is Kyler Murray at +270. As the best young quarterback the league has seen as a prospect since maybe Peyton Manning, getting + money on him with an offensive genius head coach is really strong. I’ll be making this wager personally. The other option that I think realistically returns value over the long run is David Montgomery at +1800. For that bet to be a good ticket, you need the Cardinals to be horrible for Montgomery to be the true three-down back in Chicago. Both of those things are reasonably in the range of outcomes.”

“As much as I would like to chase the attractive odds on the other options, Kyler Murray is the play here. This line will undoubtedly be negative juice by kickoff so lock this one in immediately. The Cardinals spent the majority of the draft loading up Kyler Murray’s arsenal. He now boasts one of the most talented passing attacks in the entire NFL. Larry Fitzgerald, Christian Kirk, Hakeem Butler, Andy Isabella, and KeeSean Johnson. And in case you missed it, they drafted Caleb Wilson with the final pick of the draft and signed A.J. Richardson as an UDFA. On top of that, he will have one of the best backs in the league in David Johnson as a receiving option, as well as an elite runner who can keep defenses honest and keep the pressure off of him. Murray is a perfect fit for Kliff Kingsbury’s air raid attack and is poised to excel with the embarrassment of riches he has at his disposal. You have to believe this group of rookie receivers will hit the ground running with Larry Fitzgerald to mentor them, and a coach who is likely already familiar with their strengths and weaknesses. The Cardinals will be one of the most exciting offenses to watch this season. Kyler Murray +270, lock it in.”

Josh Jacobs (RB – OAK): +750
“Getting Jacobs at +750 is the easy call for me. We all know that running backs selected in the first round get plenty of work/opportunity, and the Raiders have no one on the roster outside of Jacobs who can play all three downs. With Antonio Brown and Tyrell Williams added to the roster, that’ll help clear some additional space in the box, as teams have to respect the deep part of the field with them. I do not believe Kyler Murray is all he’s been cracked up to be, so why not take the guy we know will get opportunity with much better odds?”

“Since 2010 there have been four QBs, four RBs, and one WR to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year in the NFL. The one WR to win was Odell Beckham and this year’s draft class at WR doesn’t have an ascending talent of his caliber in it, so we must zero in on the QB and RB position. Both Kyler Murray and Dwayne Haskins should get the playing time to be considered but are also the top two favorites and don’t offer much value. So, this brings me to my top two rookie RBs for this season to choose between, Josh Jacobs (+750) and David Montgomery (+1800). Jacobs is my choice as he should be given the opportunity for an every-down role for the Raiders and benefit from an improved offense. Montgomery is my favorite longshot.”

Darrell Henderson (RB – LAR): +3000
“Over the past six seasons, we’ve seen one wide receiver win this award, but this year’s class doesn’t have a generational talent like Odell Beckham. One QB won the award, but Dak Prescott had a much better surrounding cast than any of this year’s rookie QBs. That leaves us with four running backs. Two were tremendous talents in Todd Gurley and Saquon Barkley. There isn’t a prospect anywhere near that level this year. The other two were Alvin Kamara and Eddie Lacy who greatly benefitted from being in established high-power offenses. While I don’t expect Henderson to be the favorite to win the award, he best fits the description as the type to have done it before. We are looking at a very talented back who happens to be joining the defending NFC Champs and is the direct backup behind a star running back with significant injury concerns. If Todd Gurley went down with an injury, Henderson would be the odds on favorite to win. Would you say Gurley has a 30 to 1 chance of that? I’d put those odds much higher.”

Dwayne Haskins (QB – WAS): +1000
“There’s a chance Haskins doesn’t start out of the gates, but at this point, Case Keenum is more of a backup so you can’t build your offense around him. Haskins has the benefit of a backfield that includes Derrius Guice and Chris Thompson, as well as tight end Jordan Reed. The receivers are less than desirable, but that’s why you’re getting +1000. I’m not sure Kyler Murray is worth it at his odds.”
