With Christmas now in the rearview, it’s full steam ahead with the College Football Playoffs and two other games taking us into the new year. Let’s look at where the remaining value lies as the kickoffs for each approach.

After finishing the regular season with a losing record of 5-7, the Rutgers Scarlett Knights were called off the couch to play in the Gator Bowl (replaced Texas A&M), with their first practice being just a few days ago on December 26th. The task will be tall for the nation’s 113th ranked offense (20.3 points per game), as they’ll be asked to keep up with one of the country’s most prolific.
Coming into this game, the Demon Deacons rank #5 in the country in points scored (41.2), as Sam Hartman has had a breakout season. Throwing for 36 touchdowns and running for 11 more, the second-team All-ACC quarterback led his team to the ACC Championship game.
With just two wins since September, Rutgers struggled mightily down the stretch and, in a season they already thought long over, should struggle again in this one.
Georgia/Michigan Under 45 | -105 at DK Sportsbook
In what will be the last game of the year, I expect a defensive dog fight between the SEC and BIG 10 champions. For the coveted Georgia defense, their 9.5 points per game was an afterthought following their conference championship clash with Alabama, as the Crimson Tide put up 41 points in the 24-41 loss.
While that might be baked into this one, this is still a Georgia team that allowed just 24 points combined in the three games prior (against mortals) and should come into this one with a massive chip on their shoulder.
As for the Wolverines, their defense was also impressive this season, as they finished the regular season allowing just 16.1 points per game, good enough for #4 in the country. With post defenses being the highlights of these teams, expect a low-scoring affair in this one.
