Best NFL Player Prop Bets: Week 15 (2020)

Now we’re cooking with gas! We enjoyed a 3-0 record in Week 14, as Justin Herbert tossed two touchdowns, T.Y. Hilton kept up his hot streak and poor Giovani Bernard proved to have been the easiest fade of the slate—he needed to clear 55.5 rushing yards to turn our prop into a lose. He finished the game with eight.

Let’s keep this energy going for Week 15. For this week’s picks, DraftKings had the most favorable odds to win you some money.

The Prop: O/U 57.5 rushing yards for Jalen Hurts (PHI)

The Jalen Hurts Experience is finally underway in Philly. And you know what? It’s pretty fun!

The Eagles offense looked as competent as it has all season with Hurts behind center when Philadelphia upset the New Orleans Saints last Sunday. Hurts injected some new life into the offense, thanks in part to his ability to move the ball with his legs. Hurts ran all over a stout Saints defense for 106 yards, becoming the first quarterback to clear the century mark on the ground while throwing a touchdown in his first NFL start.

The NFL learning curve can be tricky for a rookie quarterback. Hurts certainly cleared his first hurdle last week, but when passing success proves difficult to come by in future games, it can be expected that he will continue to default to improvisation with his speed and agility carrying the football. That bodes well for a rushing total that is barely more than half of what he accrued last week.

This Sunday, Hurts squares off with an Arizona defense that is pretty accustomed to watching quarterbacks enjoy rushing success. Though their own Kyler Murray has certainly familiarized the Cardinals defenders with the concept, stopping Hurts will be a challenge.

The Play: Jalen Hurts over 57.5 rushing yards (-110 at BetMGM, -112 at DraftKings)

The Prop: O/U 18.5 receiving yards for Kareem Hunt (CLE)

The Browns finally figured it out last week! Though it didn’t result in a win in a thrilling Monday night contest against the Ravens, Cleveland finally began to utilize the skills of Kareem Hunt in the passing game again. Hunt was a menace against Baltimore, catching six of seven targets for 77 yards and a touchdown. With Hunt so involved, the Browns scored 42 points. It’s a solid strategy.

In Week 15, Hunt gets another prime time tilt in a Sunday night game against the Giants. The Giants have shown considerable improvement on the defensive side of the ball, turning their unit into a legitimately difficult match-up for opposing offenses in recent weeks. Shutting down the Browns, though, should prove no easy task. Cleveland has scored more than 40 points in consecutive games. Though Baker Mayfield has his swagger back, he should continue to lean on Hunt for easy completions to keep the Giants off-balance.

The Play: Kareem Hunt over 17.5 receiving yards (-110 at BetMGM)

The Prop: O/U 27.5 rushing yards for Jamaal Williams

This is a player I’ve touted in this column earlier in the season, but it didn’t work out. Though Williams needed just a couple of yards to clear the total entering the fourth quarter, he came up short in Week 10 against Jacksonville. Matt LaFleur’s regular fascination with the second-string runner suddenly dried up down the stretch when we needed him—go figure.

This week, though, I’m ready to go back to the well. Williams gets another forgiving run defense in the Carolina Panthers. Though LaFleur has begun to siphon away some of Williams’ snaps to the starter Aaron Jones lately, he has consistently touched the ball when he sees the field. Considering his involvement in the offense remains inexplicably consistent, this shouldn’t be a difficult total for Williams to achieve Saturday night.

The Play: Jamaal Williams over 27.5 rushing yards (-125 at DraftKings)

By the way, we’re all over the Packers this week. Get your picks in early because the chance to make money on this one will be gone by Sunday morning; this game takes place Saturday night. In addition to Williams, we like props on Aaron Rodgers over 2.5 touchdown passes (+100) and Allen Lazard over 40.5 receiving yards, both at DraftKings.
