NFL Player Props, Picks & Predictions: Ravens vs. Bills

Here are some of Andrew Erickson’s predictions for Ravens vs. Bills. And check out all of his top picks for NFL Week 8.

Ravens vs. Bills Preview & Picks

Everything in this game hinges on how well Lamar Jackson plays after his three-game absence.

My view of these elite quarterback matchups is that you bet blindly on the underdogs…but the optics of Buffalo at home after a bye week have me leaning strongly in that direction. The home team has covered in 8 of the last 9 games between the Bills/Ravens. 3 of the last 4 matchups between these teams have been settled by 3 or fewer points.

I also like the Over (how can you not). The total is the highest of the week, but we have seen real classics between these two teams, very high-scoring when Lamar is on the field, and neither defense has particularly played that well this season.

I won’t push back at anyone to fire away on the Over and cheer for a back-and-forth game. Each of the last 7 Ravens’ road underdog games has gone OVER the total. I think my official play will be on the game going over 54.5 points. The last two games between these teams have totaled 81 and 52 points.

Seth Woolock gave out Bills -2.5 as his best sides/totals play for Week 8, and I agreed with backing the home team.

Best NFL Same Game Parlay for Ravens vs. Bills

Here is our top NFL same game parlay for Ravens vs. Bills. And you can view all of our Week 8 NFL same game parlays.

            • Leg 1: Lamar Jackson 240+ Passing Yards (-103)
            • Leg 2: Mark Andrews 25+ Receiving Yards (-147)
            • Leg 3: James Cook Under 85.5 Rushing Yards (-114)

Lamar Jackson is back for Baltimore this week. He obviously boosts the offense, but the Ravens' passing attack should be plenty productive in a favorable matchup. Buffalo allows 298.7 passing yards per game to opposing quarterbacks, the second-highest mark in the league. The Bills' secondary is also allowing the third-most completions per game.

So, let's take the over on Jackson's passing yards in his return. The Ravens' quarterback is averaging 241.8 passing yards per game this season, though he's been under 240 in three of four games. The matchup is what we love, though. Buffalo has given up 240+ passing yards to opposing QBs in five of six games already.

Mark Andrews has underperformed this season, but he should benefit from Jackson's return. Plus, it's an excellent matchup for the Ravens' tight end. The Bills allow the third-most receiving yards (77.5) and targets (9.5) per game to opposing TEs. Andrews should get to 25+ yards against this defense, especially since he's hovered in the range all year. He has at least 23 receiving yards in six of seven games, averaging 29.1 per game.

On the Buffalo side, let's fade James Cook's rushing yards. The Ravens boast a strong run defense. They allow 3.8 yards per carry and 77.4 rushing yards per game to opposing running backs, both ranking seventh-best in the NFL. Cook is having a great season, but yards could be tough to come by this week. Baltimore has also limited him in previous meetings, with Cook averaging just 50 yards in the past three matchups.

              Parlay Odds: +410

What is an NFL player prop bet?

An NFL player prop bet is a type of wager where you’re betting on the performance of a specific player in a game rather than the overall outcome. For example, you might place a bet on how many passing yards a quarterback will throw for, or how many touchdowns a running back will score. It’s a fun way to get more invested in the action, especially if you’re confident in how a particular player will perform, regardless of who wins or loses the game. It’s like focusing on one slice of the pie instead of the whole thing.
