Titans vs. Bengals Preview & Picks

Cincy is 4-1 toward the over as a favorite this season, while the Titans are riding a two-game over streak.

The Bengals were an easy side for me early in the week, but the spread moving from 10.5 to 12.5 has me gun-shy

I get that Tennessee only has one win, which came at Indianapolis, and last week it lost at home to a Cleveland team it was supposed to hang with, even though Tony Pollard had a three-touchdown game.

Cincinnati, meanwhile, is starting to heat up. The Bengals came out of the bye sluggish against Baltimore, trailed 13-0 at the half, and then ran off 35 straight points. I think that carries over. Cincinnati is more than 10 points better than Tennessee in a vacuum; it is at home, and the offense got going last week.

I think I’d just bet on points overall from a sides/totals perspective. But really, there is nothing I need to bet here.

Except for Chase Brown props. The Bengals RB has underwhelmed this season, hitting 60-plus rushing yards just twice in six games. But he has faced a tough schedule of run defenses, with Week 8 looking like the easiest matchup he has faced all season.

And although it seemed like Samaje Perine was eating into Brown’s touch before the bye week, the 70-30 split resumed in favor of Brown in Week 7.

Every starting RB has seen at least 13 carries versus the Titans, and Brown has double-digit carries in all but one game this year (and 14 of his last 15 games played).

Every starting RB who has faced the Titans this season has hit at least 60 rushing yards (except Saquon Barkley, who got injured in Week 2).

And that was with stud DT Jeffery Simmons, who was just traded to the Chicago Bears.

Best NFL Same Game Parlay for Titans vs. Bengals

Here is our top NFL same game parlay for Titans vs. Bengals. And you can view all of our Week 8 NFL same game parlays.

            • Leg 1: Ja'Marr Chase 80+ Receiving Yards (-118)
            • Leg 2: Chase Brown 50+ Rushing Yards (-177)
            • Leg 3: Gunner Helm 20+ Receiving Yards (-126)

Ja'Marr Chase is off to a slower start than normal this season. He's averaging just 58.5 receiving yards per game, with 80+ yards just once. The yardage hasn't always been there, but Chase is still seeing a solid 7.5 targets per game. This week is an ideal opportunity to buy low a bit on the Bengals' wideout.

Tennessee is allowing the sixth-most receiving yards per game to opposing WRs. Tee Higgins has been Cincinnati's more productive receiver, but it's only a matter of time until Chase starts putting together better games. It's also telling that his yardage prop this week is higher than Higgins'.

In the running game, Chase Brown should also be productive in this matchup. The Titans are allowing the seventh-most rushing yards per game this year. The defense also just traded away stud defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, which notably downgrades the line. Brown has vastly underperformed, averaging just 47.5 rushing yards per game. However, he should get to 50+ yards against this defense.

Meanwhile, Gunner Helm is an intriguing player to target for Tennessee. The Bengals have struggled to cover tight ends, allowing the second-most receiving yards per game to the position (84.8). Helm has only eclipsed 20+ yards twice this season, but the matchup doesn't lie. We've backed opposing TEs in this matchup all year, and Helm should do just enough to reach 20+ yards.

What is an NFL player prop bet?

An NFL player prop bet is a type of wager where you’re betting on the performance of a specific player in a game rather than the overall outcome. For example, you might place a bet on how many passing yards a quarterback will throw for, or how many touchdowns a running back will score. It’s a fun way to get more invested in the action, especially if you’re confident in how a particular player will perform, regardless of who wins or loses the game. It’s like focusing on one slice of the pie instead of the whole thing.
