Best Super Bowl LV Novelty Prop Bets (2021)
The beauty of the Super Bowl is you can bet on pretty much anything. And I mean anything.
So while thereâs been plenty of talk about Patrick Mahomes vs. Tom Brady, this article is going to answer other important questions such as the length of the national anthem and the color of Gatorade dumped on the winning head coach.
Here are my favorite non-game related prop bets for Super Bowl LV.

National Anthem Under 1 Minute and 59 Seconds (-145)
Jazmine Sullivan and Eric Church will sing the national anthem before Super Bowl LV, becoming the first duo to perform the anthem since Aretha Franklin and Aaron Neville sang âThe Star-Spangled Bannerâ in two minutes and eight seconds in 2006. Since then, the anthem has gone over two minutes eight times.
Now, I admit I donât know much about either artist. However, I did the legwork and listened to a handful of songs by both. While theyâre both good singers, they donât seem like singers who belt out notes for a long time.
Iâll take the under and hope my musical analysis was sound.
Tom Brady Shown Before Patrick Mahomes During the National Anthem (-160)
While Mahomes is the up-and-comer, this Super Bowl is still about Brady. Heâs in his 10th Super Bowl, and his new team is hosting the game. I predict heâll be shown first. Then theyâll show Andy Reid, then Bruce Arians, and then Mahomes as the song wraps up.
Coin Toss Result: Heads -103
I know, Iâm spitting right in the face of the adage that declares, âTails never fails.â Well, I guess Iâm just a contrarian at heart.
Now, some people would say you should never pay juice (-103) for a bet that has true 50/50 odds. Those people are right, but I just canât help myself. The coin toss often sets the tone for what kind of betting day Iâm going to have.
I have a feeling heads is due this year. Tails won last year and has won in five of the last seven Super Bowls.
The Weekndâs First Song Will be âPray for Meâ (+250)
The big favorite is âBlinding Lights,â AKA the song thatâs been grossly overplayed during Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show commercials. But that song sounds more like a finisher to me. After intense deliberation and listening to various songs with my girlfriend, we both agreed that âPray for Meâ is a great upbeat choice to start the halftime show. If you want another option, I also like âCanât Feel My Face,â at +320.
What Color Gatorade will be Dumped on the Winning Coach? Orange (+165)
The winning Gatorade color has been orange in five of the last 10 Super Bowls, including last yearâs Chiefs victory. Iâm picking Kansas City to win again and expecting the players to drench Reid in orange Gatorade before enjoying another postgame victory burger.
