Best Super Bowl LVII Teaser Pick and Predictions (2023)

The Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs will play in Super Bowl LVII on February 12th at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, as the biggest sporting event in the world is finally just a week away.  In the NFC Championship Game, the Eagles easily defeated the San Francisco 49ers, as the Chiefs narrowly defeated the Cincinnati Bengals to win the AFC.

Even though there is still over a week before the Super Bowl kicks off, we are already analyzing the game from every angle.  Let’s get started with a teaser I created to encapsulate all the action.

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Overview

The Eagles are participating in their first Super Bowl since defeating the Patriots in 2017, while the Chiefs are back after a year away. Additionally, this year’s Super Bowl will feature the youngest combined age of starting quarterbacks in the game’s history, in addition to Chiefs coach Andy Reid playing against his former team.

The two-week break before the last game of the season will be helpful for both signal-callers, who are both struggling with injuries. Mahomes, who beat the Bengals in the AFC Championship Game by throwing two touchdown passes, is recovering from a high ankle sprain suffered in the Divisional Round. Hurts is still getting his bearings after suffering a shoulder injury late in the regular season.

With Mahomes at quarterback, the Chiefs always believe they have a shot against strong opposition. With the win over the Bengals, he improved to 10-3 in the postseason, carrying his team to victory with a late fourth-quarter run.  The Chiefs are certain they can defeat any defensive opponent because they once again led the league in scoring (28.2 points per game) and yards per play (6.4) during the regular season. Defensive tackle Chris Jones is a key player for the Chiefs in their ability to apply pressure to the opposing quarterback, as they came in second to the Eagles in sacks with 55.

The Eagles, led by Hurts, have probably the strongest roster from top to bottom in the NFL, and finding a weakness is challenging. They have everything from a high-quality offensive line, playmakers on the offense and on all three levels of defense. Perhaps most notably, the Eagles possess a pass rush that registered 70 sacks throughout the regular season, ranking third in NFL history.

Bottom Line

Even with the Eagles’ edge on defense, this Reid-Mahomes offense has somehow gotten better a year after losing their best weapon in Tyreek Hill. Hurts can win this game with his legs, however, and I think we see this one turn into a shootout accordingly.

Chiefs keep it close as this one sails over the total.

Pick: Chiefs +7.5 / Over 44.5 (-110)
