Trilogy vs. Power – 3:30 PM EST
Finishing the regular season with a league-leading point differential of +45, the Trilogy’s competency was on full display last week as they got out to an early first-half lead vs. the Aliens and never looked back. Leading 26-17 heading into the half, the duo of Earl Clark and Isaiah Briscoe once again proved too much for their opponents, as those two alone finished with 39 of the team’s 50 points.
As they have all season, the Trilogy relied on their stout defense, as that same duo picked up 10 rebounds to secure the 50-45 win as 2.5-point underdogs.
As for this week’s underdog, the Power is no stranger to the role, winning as 2.5-point dogs last week to the Three-Headed Monsters, who were led by the best player in the league Kevin Murphy. Even allowing Murphy to get 28 points on the day, the Power bucked down late and had their own scoring ace up their sleeve in big man Glen Rice Jr.
Dropping 26-6 on the night, Rice Jr. led the way for a Power team who did what they do best; pound the boards and kick out for clutch jumpers when needed. TJ Cline added another 10 points for the eventual winners, as a late rally propelled them to a 51-49 win when all was said and done.
Another key difference maker in this one was Royce White, who added eight points in the win as their third and final option.
In this game, I think we see Rice Jr. be the difference, as time after time this season, he’s proven to be able to hit any shot on the floor. They also have one of the best scoring threats from the bench in team captain and veteran Cuttino Mobley, who has proven the difference maker in multiple games this season.
While the returning champions will get the bulk of the betting action this week, I like for the Power to come out on top Sunday in Atlanta.
