NHL Odds, Picks & Predictions for Wednesday: Bruins vs. Avalanche
The Bruins lost their first home game of the season on Monday night when they went down to the Golden Knights 4-3 in a shootout. Previously, they were 14-0-0, and their 14-game home win streak set a record for the longest home win streak to start a season. Boston will now hit the road for a trio of games in Colorado, Arizona, and they’ll have an opportunity for revenge against Vegas on Sunday night. Tonight’s game with the Avalanche is set for 9:00 p.m. ET in Denver.
These two teams just squared off in Boston on Saturday, and the B’s came away with a 5-1 win at the Garden. I will back the Bruins to repeat that effort, and I’ll take them on the puck line tonight. This play is more of a fade of the Avs and their current roster situation. They’re ravaged by injuries and will be without Nathan MacKinnon, Gabriel Landeskog, Josh Manson, Evan Rodrigues, Darren Helm, and Valeri Nichushkin. You have to wonder where the offensive production will come from for the Avalanche – especially against a dominant defense like Boston. The Bruins enter tonight’s game with the top-ranked defensive unit in the league, allowing just 2.13 goals per game. Let’s ride with the B’s to collect the two points tonight and stretch this lead out to at least two goals.
