NFL Week 18 Odds, Picks & Predictions: Buccaneers vs. Falcons
As was written this past Sunday, be cautious in trusting the Falcons as a favorite. Atlanta rookie Desmond Ridder has ranked among the NFL’s worst in EPA / Drop-Back in his three starts, and the Falcons have been one of the league’s worst teams since Thanksgiving.
Typically, Atlanta would never be favored here. They only are because the Bucs have ‘nothing to play for’ having already locked up the NFC’s No. 4 seed. However, while the expectation was that Tampa would elect to rest players in preparation for the postseason, HC Todd Bowles has since stated that he plans to play his starters in Week 18.
If Tampa’s best do indeed play, there is no argument for the Falcons being favored. It’s certainly murky, but for now we lean the Bucs’ direction.
