Bundesliga Soccer Sports Betting Picks of the Week (2020): 6/12 – 6/14

We had our first losing week with Bundesliga (1-2), which moved our record to 10-5 on the season. While we cashed the Werder-Wolfsburg under, we were way off with the RB Leipzig pick as well as the Monchengladbach and over parlay for our third pick.
As we move into Matchday 31, let’s see if we can get back on track and produce another winning week.

Schalke 04 vs. Leverkusen
Odds: Schalke +470, Draw +340, Leverkusen -185
Schalke hasn’t won a match in 10 straight, which is very telling of who they are as a team these days. They’ve now slipped to 10th in the standings, which puts them in a tie with Hertha on 38 points. They’re a sizable dog in this spot, and I don’t expect them to be very competitive here, mostly due to injuries. There’s Guido Burgstaller (knee), Amine Harit (knee), Omar Mascarell (groin), Suat Serdar (knee), Jean-Clair Todibo (ankle) and Matija Nastasic (muscular). This team just isn’t working with a full deck of cards these days.
Leverkusen has been a bit unreliable of late, losing 4-2 to Bayern, edging out SC Freiburg 1-0 and losing 4-1 to Wolfsburg before that. However, they have actually been more reliable on the road (10-1-4) than at home (7-4-4), so I’m going to trust them in this spot. I’m not a huge fan of laying the -185, so I’ll knock the juice down a little bit and lay -1.

Bayern Munich vs. Monchengladbach
Odds: Munich -300, Draw +450, Monchengladbach +700
This is a matchup between the teams that are first and fourth in the Bundesliga standings table, and while that might suggest this could be a tight showdown, the odds tell us there is a huge difference in quality between the sides.
Bayern Munich has been shredding everything in its path, topping Leverkusen 4-2 in their latest outing. They’ve won all five of their games since returning from the hiatus, outscoring their opponents 17-4 in the process.
Meanwhile, Monchengladbach has been disappointing. They are coming off a 1-0 loss to SC Freiburg in a game where Alassane Plea was lost to a red card. That’s terrible news for Monchengladbach, as he has 10 goals and 10 assists for the team this season. He’s a significant asset up front. Monchengladbach is just 2-1-2 in their last five games, and this figures to be a really tough spot for them.
I’m not going to lay all of the juice here, but I will take a shot with Bayern on the spread.
Pick: Bayern Munich -1.5 at DraftKings Sportsbook
Fortuna Dusseldorf vs. Borussia Dortmund
Odds: Dusseldorf +700, Draw +420, Dortmund -290
Dortmund is a sizable road favorite in this spot, as they’re currently second in the Bundesliga standings and are facing a team that’s 16th in the same table. Dusseldorf has been passable of late, drawing with Hoffenheim FC Koln and Paderborn, beating Schalke, and losing to Bayern. The key for me here is the goals scored in recent matches. The Hoffenheim draw was 2-2, and the loss to Bayern was 5-0. That makes me feel pretty good about Dortmund getting at least two or three goals here.
Dortmund is coming off a 1-0 win over Hertha, but they scored six on Paderborn in their game before that. They have scored 35 goals on the road this season, and their away fixtures have averaged 3.9 goals per contest. As for Dusseldorf, the 27 goals they’ve allowed at home are the fifth-most in the Bundesliga. That leads me to believe that we should see an over here.
