The Boston Celtics are heavy favorites to win tonight’s game against the Pistons. But Jayson Tatum should still be able to get through the first three quarters if necessary. If the Celtics are blowing out the Pistons on the road early, Tatum’s likely already having a big day.
Tatum has averaged 30.9 points per game this season and has hit at least 30 points in four of his last five games and seven of his last ten games. He’s shooting a high volume of threes and can get to the line at least ten times in any game he plays.
Meanwhile, Derrick White is starting to play better in the absence of Marcus Smart. White has earned at least 14 points in his last five games and is going up against one of the worst defenses in the NBA.
Finally, Al Horford has averaged 2.6 assists this season. He only earned one assist in Boston’s most recent game but added at least three assists in his four previous games. Boston struggled offensively against the Suns in their loss and scored just 94 points. Usually, Boston’s way up in the 100’s.
The Celtics will score more buckets against the Pistons, which leads to more assists. Horford will benefit from playing the Pistons.
