Celtics vs. Warriors Game 4: Top NBA Finals Betting Odds & Picks for Friday, June 10 (2022)
The attention of the NBA world will be on Steph Curry’s knee this evening in Boston, as the former NBA Finals MVP suffered an injury at the end of Game 3 Wednesday reminiscent of an injury that kept him out for much of the back half of the season. Even with Curry, the Warriors have so far been unable to match the Celtics’ athleticism, as Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum have largely had their way offensively.
For the Warriors, this game and series will very likely come down to the effectiveness of Splash Brothers 2 and 3, as Klay Thompson and or Jordan Poole almost certainly need to cook in order for them to have a chance. Let’s take a closer look at how things might shake out inf front of a sure-to-be raucous crowd at the TD Garden tonight in Boston.
#1. Celtics -4 | -110 at DK Sportsbook
I was high on this Warriors team coming into this series, thinking the Celtics didn’t have the offensive firepower to run with one of the best 1-2 punches in NBA history in Curry and Thompson. Boy was I wrong in more ways than one.
Not only have Brown and Tatum responded in spades, but the overall athleticism and length of this Celtics team have proven too much for a Warriors team whose veteran ways have started to turn into their aging ways. Even with the return of defensive help in Gary Payton II and Andre Iguodala, the Warriors have been unable to match the energy put forth by a Celtics team who at the present moment, also seems to just want it more.
For the Celtics, Jayston Tatum continues to lead all scorers with 26.3 points per game, but the difference-maker for me has been Brown who scored a game-high 27 in Wednesday’s win. If Brown can turn in a similar type of performance, the defense of Marcus Smart in the backcourt and Robert Williams III down low should be enough for the Celtics to take the series back to SF up 3-1 with a chance to win a record-breaking 18th NBA title.
#2. Under 214 | -110 at DK Sportsbook
We’ve seen two of the three games so far go over, both of which featured anomaly-type fourth quarters in which the Celtics exploded for a combined 63 points in games otherwise headed for to be right on the number. In this pivotal Game 4 match-up, with the teams fully immersed in each other’s rotations and personnel, I look for a focused effort on the defensive front from both.
It’s also one more game for Payton II and Iguodala to get their legs back following having missed extended periods of time this postseason. In a game, the Warriors must have and the Celtics desperately want, I like for defense to reign supreme tonight at TD Garden.
