Villarreal CF of La Liga has managed two wins, four losses, and two draws to sit in 11th place in the table, while scoring 13 goals, while conceding 13 goals, across eight matches. The last time we saw Villarreal in UCL play, it was on the short end of a 3-2 loss to Borussia Dortmund on Sept. 8.
For Napoli of Serie A in Italia, Napoli is eighth in the table, posting three victories with two losses and a draw. Kevin De Bruyne, of Red Devils fame in Belgium, has managed three goals in Serie A play. In the most recent match, Napoli pounded Frosinone 3-0, and it is on a three-match streak with two victories and a draw. However, in its most recent UCL match, it suffered a 1-0 loss to Arsenal of the English Premier League.
Napoli has conceded just four goals in the past four matches, while Villarreal has managed to concede just three goals in the past three matches. We’re going to take a shot on the draw for the chance to nearly triple up, and we’ll go low on the total, perhaps looking for a 1-1 draw.

Atletico Madrid is another La Liga team from Spain, but it is near the top of the table, tied with Real Betis with 19 points in eight matches, posting six wins, one loss and one draw, while posting a plus-10 goal differential.
Manchester United has really struggled in English Premier League play, winning just one match, while losing two and playing to three draws. ManU, once one of the top powers in the EPL, has managed nine goals with an even goal differential. It is having a very marginal season, sitting in 13th place in the EPL table, closer to the relegation line than it is to the top spot in the table.
These historic clubs have met as recently as Aug. 1, with ManU posting a 2-1 victory in an international friendly. On July 30, 2022, these teams met, also in a friendly, with Atletico posting a 1-0 victory. The last time these teams met in a Champions League match was 2022, with Atletico posting a 1-0 victory on March 15, 2022, while the teams played to a 1-1 draw on Feb. 23, 2022.
While history is all well and good, Atletico has been in much better form lately. Let’s back Atletico to get the job done, and we’ll go high on the total. Atletico has seen three or more combined goals in each of the past six matches across all formats. For ManU, it has seen 3.0 combined goals per game across its past six matches, too.
