Ivica Zubac finished Game 1 with 21 points in 39.4 minutes of game action. His usage reached 22.3%, which is already higher than his ten-game average of 19.6%. Zubac has shot 68.8% from the floor over the last ten games and hit 67% in Game 1. He’s also attempted nearly 13 shots per game in the previous ten games. Ultimately, Zubac has added at least 18 points in four of his last five games and has become an integral part of the Clippers’ offense.
Meanwhile, Kawhi Leonard has grabbed fewer than seven rebounds in five of his last seven games. He’s also nailed at least seven rebounds in only 18% of his previous 11 games against Denver. In those last 11 games, Leonard has averaged just 3.4 rebounds per game. That’s likely because the Nuggets have limited small forwards on the glass over the last few seasons. This year, the Clippers rank second in the NBA in rebounds allowed to small forwards.
Finally, James Harden has drilled at least three three-pointers in three of his last four games, including Game 1 against the Nuggets. Harden has averaged more than seven three-point attempts per game over the last ten games. Yet, he took nine against the Clippers in Game 1 and drilled four of them. This is sustainable, especially since the Nuggets rank 25th in three-pointers made to point guards and 27th in three-point field goal percentage to point guards.
