College Baseball World Series Picks: Oregon State vs. Louisville
Yesterday’s UCLA-LSU game was suspended until today, with LSU leading 5-3. Ultimately, whoever loses this game will play in an elimination game against Arkansas later tonight. However, we currently don’t know the second team, so there are no odds for that matchup.
That said, the Oregon State-Louisville elimination game is set for 2:00 pm ET, and I’ve added the best bet for that College World Series game below.

The Oregon State Beavers won’t announce the starting pitcher until about 90 minutes before first pitch. Pitching coach Rich Dorman acknowledged that the team has a lot of options and a bunch of quality arms. They’ll likely roll with Nelson Keljo, Eric Segura and James DeCremer for this elimination game.
Oregon State knocked off Louisville 4-3 on Friday, led by Dax Whitney. Segura also pitched 0.2 innings and 14 pitches in the win. Meanwhile, Keljo began the season as Oregon State’s Friday starter. Over the last three games, he’s allowed a 2.84 ERA, but he’s also allowed a 1.58 WHIP. He’s been a bit lucky to escape damage. The lefty is probably the favorite to start at this point.
On the other hand, Louisville will likely roll with lefty Justin West or righty Brennyn Cutts. Louisville used its third starter, Tucker Biven, in its comeback win over Arizona. This entire postseason, Louisville has only used nine pitchers. They’ll likely use a bunch of arms to get through this game. West threw 1.2 scoreless innings against Oregon State and is probably the favorite to at least open the game.
While West has a 5.82 ERA in 34 innings pitched, he’s allowed a 0.00 ERA in his last three games. He’s also given up just a 1.15 WHIP in those previous three games and is pitching well right now. He’s got plenty of momentum heading into this one.
However, he’ll have to face an Oregon State offense that has been raking as of late. Over the last 10 games, Oregon State has hit for a .338 average with a 1.011 OPS. The Beavers are more complete on offense, and their pitching has a 2.97 ERA over the last 10 games. They’ve collectively earned a 2.56 SIERA, which is the second-best in the nation through the last 10 games.
Additionally, Oregon State’s bullpen has performed more consistently overall this season. The Beavers have added more strikeouts per nine innings and have a lower ERA and WHIP. With a better pitching situation, I like Oregon State to win on the run line.
