Monday’s Best College Baseball World Series Picks

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

UCLA Bruins (+240) vs. LSU Tigers (-330) | O/U 9.5 (-110/-120)

We have a battle between the SEC and the Big 10 as both LSU and UCLA look to advance in the winner’s bracket and inch one step closer to the Championship Series.

UCLA will be starting sophomore Landon Stump, who is considered UCLA's top starting pitcher. He is 6-1 with a 4.54 ERA.

On the other side of the diamond, the LSU Tigers are starting junior Anthony Eyanson. It could be said that Eyanson is LSU's best pitcher despite teammate Kade Anderson pitching a gem in their Game 1 win.

The UC San Diego transfer tied Anderson with a team-high in wins (11) but had the lower ERA (2.74).

Eyanson did get roughed up a bit in his last start against West Virginia, allowing four runs and five hits, including two dingers. This UCLA offense is sneaky good and has arguably one of the best hitters in the country in Roch Cholowsky.

The problem with UCLA is that the competition, or the lack thereof, may haunt the Bruins. LSU will be the best team they’ve faced all year, and by far the best lineup Stump has faced. LSU's lineup can come out flat at times, but they tend to beat up on the weaker teams.

We saw this in the regionals and super regionals, as they outscored their opponents 61 to 30

If LSU wants to advance, they are going to need Jared Jones to have a big game after a brutal 0-for-5, five-strikeout game against Arkansas.

LSU is the better team, and I know that doesn’t always matter in the postseason, but UCLA is outmatched here, and LSU should win by multiple runs.

Pick: LSU -2.5 (-120)
