College Basketball Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions: Friday (1/27)

As we are deep in the college basketball season, now is the time to use the plethora of data to get going on winning some money. It is a lowkey Friday slate so remember not to force any bets you don’t love. There is still plenty of season left.

Today’s Best NCAA Basketball Picks

Here are my best bets for today’s men’s college basketball slate.

Saint Louis at Davidson

For arguably the most exciting play on the slate, we have an A10 Battle.

Davidson has been a bit underwhelming with their 10-10 record. They can’t buy a bucket from deep, ranking 327th in the nation in three-point shooting. They struggle to rebound, and their interior defense is lacking.

One of Saint Louis’ best strengths is its interior defense, ranking 28th in the nation. I expect Davidson to struggle down low, despite their size advantage. The Wildcats also have very little depth, ranking 314th in the country in bench minutes. With the Billikens faster than average pace, I expect Saint Louis to be able to pull away late and cover.

Play: Saint Louis -1.5

Iona at Siena

Again, this is almost a college basketball off-day, but Siena and Iona are respectively one and two in MAAC standings, so there’s a good chance you’ll see one of these teams in March.

Nelly Junior and Daniss Jenkins are two of the best players in the conference for Iona. The three-headed monster with them and Walter Clayton lead Iona to rank top-100 both offensively and defensively.

Siena allows a lot of shots inside, with 60 percent of opponents’ points coming inside the arc, ranking sixth in DI ball. Iona’s 31st-ranked three-point defense should give Siena’s shooters trouble, especially considering Siena’s highest usage guy – Javian McCollum – is questionable tonight.

I don’t love going with two favorites, but I have to go with Iona here.
