Ohio State vs. Michigan

In a classic matchup between one of the biggest rivalries in college sports, two squads struggling of late hope to get it right in Ann Arbor.

Simply put, Ohio State should be better. Despite their 11-11 record, they rank 32nd in KenPom with a Shot Quality record of 13-9. The Buckeyes are due for some positive regression. Ohio State has the talent and scoring abilities with the 14th-best offense in the nation. They shoot well beyond the arc, have the 25th-ranked near-proximity shooting percentage, and rebound at a high clip.

While Michigan does just as well at converting second-chance opportunities, the 50th-ranked Wolverines offense is simply not intimidating. They take care of the ball well but lack a dynamic approach with Hunter Dickinson doing the bulk of the work. His height will be a bit of a problem, but I believe in Ohio State’s ability to figure it out. Don’t be shy to bet Ohio State outright here.

Play: Ohio State +3.0

Northwestern vs. Wisconsin

I will admit I may be a little biased with my alma mater playing in this game, tonight’s game should be a defensive slugfest with each possession a battle of its own.

Both these teams lean heavily on their defenses. Wisconsin’s 23rd-ranked crew will give the Cats some trouble, considering they rank in the bottom 250 at shooting from outside and inside the arc. While Northwestern plays remarkably well away from home – ranking sixth in the nation in the metric, they won’t have many second-chance looks or transition opportunities either, as the Badgers excel at limiting those possibilities.

What else Wisconsin does well is shoot from the perimeter. Northwestern allows their opponents to score nearly 40 percent of their points from beyond the arc, the 11th highest in the nation. Wisconsin will have plenty of looks from deep and could run away with this one if their shooting is close to their 36 percent average this season.

Play: Wisconsin -3.0
