Tuesday’s Best College Basketball Picks
Last Week: 5-1 (83.3%, +390) | Season: 19-7 (73.1%, +1,142) | Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook | All picks are for 1 unit
Brown Bears (+2200) at Kentucky Wildcats (-8000) | O/U 154.5 (-110/-110)
The Brown Bears (7-4) hit the road for Rupp Arena to tangle with the Kentucky Wildcats (10-2). Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
Brown is coming off an 87-53 loss at Kansas, as the Bears halted a successful four-game against the spread (ATS) streak. Brown also had a six-game win streak snapped by Kansas.
While the Wildcats have been running through teams, Kentucky has failed to cover the past three games, while going 1-6 ATS in the previous seven outings. As a double-digit favorite, Kentucky is 0-4 ATS in the past four tries, too.
Kentucky is good for 89.1 points per game PPG. They are allowing 72.8 PPG, which is among the bottom third in the nation defensively. Brown won’t threaten to win this game, but catching more than 20 points here is quite a bit. Take the Bears and go with the over.
Picks: Brown +24 (-110) & Over 154.5 Points (-110)
VCU Rams (-142) at St. Bonaventure Bonnies (+118) | O/U 134.5 (-110/-110)
The VCU Rams (10-3) and the St. Bonaventure Bonnies (12-1) meet at the Reilly Center in Richmond, Va. in the Atlantic 10 conference opener for both sides.
St. Bonaventure swept the season series in the 2023-24 season, winning by a margin of eight points per game, while covering both meetings, too. In the home game on January 30th, 2024, the Bonnies won 67-62 while narrowly covering as a 4-point favorite with the under (137.5) cashing. St. Bonaventure has won three in a row and five of the past six outright in the series, while the Bonnies are also 3-0 ATS during the run and 5-1 ATS in its past six installments.
VCU has alternated covers and non-covers in each of the past five games, cashing last time out. The Rams are an ordinary 4-4 ATS across the past eight games in this series.
St. Bonaventure has won six in a row while covering three straight. The Bonnies are on fire against the number, too, posting a ridiculous 11-1 ATS mark on the season. Until St. Bonaventure starts to cool off against the number, keep rolling with it.
The under is also 6-1 in the past seven games for St. Bonaventure while holding a slight 3-2 edge in the past five games for VCU. In this series, the total has ended up going low at a 6-2 pace in the previous eight encounters. Let’s go low again.
Picks: St. Bonaventure +2.5 (-110) & Under 134.5 Points (-110)
Boise State Broncos (-300) at Wyoming Cowboys (+240) | O/U 138.5 (-110/-110)
The Boise State Broncos (10-3, 2-0 MWC) travel to meet the Wyoming Cowboys (8-5, 1-1 MWC) in Laramie. The game tips off at 8:30 p.m. ET.
The Broncos have been winning a lot of games, including each of the past four contests, but they’re just 2-7 ATS in the past nine games and 1-7 ATS in the previous eight games when favored.
For the Cowboys, they’ve won three in a row, while going 2-0-1 ATS in the span. Wyoming is also a very healthy 5-1-2 ATS in the past eight games. As a double-digit underdog, the Cowboys are just 1-2 ATS in its past three tries.
Boise State has won four in a row in the series and nine of the past 10 meetings since New Year’s Day 2020. However, Wyoming has always played Boise State tough, going 5-5 ATS in that span.
Let’s back the Cowboys catching the points on their own home floor while going with the over. The total has gone high three in a row in this series while going 5-1-1 in the past seven installments.
Picks: Wyoming +7.5 (-120) & Over 138.5 Points (-110)
