College Basketball Parlay Picks for Tuesday, January 11th (2022)

The conference matchups are locked and loading as college football is over, and basketball becomes the focus. We have plenty of ranked teams featured in tonight’s slate going against some interesting opponents, but we also get a couple of exciting in-state rivalries.

Auburn vs. Alabama: Pick Auburn +2 (Tip 9 p.m. ET)

Auburn is one of the hottest teams in College Basketball as they come into this matchup with an 11-game winning streak, including against those other Tigers at LSU. These Tigers display a balance of offense as they 12th in scoring (80.6), but also defensively with the seventh adjusted defense according to KenPom.

Alabama is much better than their record but sometimes plays down to their competition. All four losses this season are against unranked opponents in which they came into the game as favorites, but that’s also a good thing as they have some notable wins over ranked teams like Gonzaga, Houston, and Tennessee. This season, the key for Alabama is they know how to put up points with the 10th best scoring offense, and they dominate on the rim 40.3 rebounds per game.

The Tigers have the ability to put up the points and control the game on the boards. Alabama is getting a slight advantage mainly because they’re home, but Auburn is the better team. Tuscaloosa is going to be upset two nights in a row.

Pick: Auburn +2

Miami vs. Florida State (Tip 8 p.m. ET)

Miami is probably one of the best teams not ranked in the Top 25. They’re headed into this game with a nine-game winning streak, including a win over No. 2 Duke on Saturday. The defense has not been good this season as they are 335th in rebounding, 283rd in scoring defense, and 312th in field goal percentage allowed, but the offense that’s 51st in field goal percentage has been carrying them this season.

Florida State has been anchored by its strong defense this season. They’ve been especially good at forcing turnovers as they rank 21st in the nation by forcing a turnover on 24.1% of defensive possessions. The offense isn’t as potent, but averaging 73.6 points per game has them in the middle of the pack. Their one fault is how often they allow their opponents to go to the charity stripe as they are allowing 17.5 fouls per game.

Miami is riding high, but it has to come down at some point. They run into a particularly good defense, and they don’t have the talent on their defensive side. However, a six-point spread seems too large in this matchup. FSU pulls it out, but Miami keeps it close.

Pick: Miami +6

Iowa State vs. Kansas (Tip 8 p.m. ET)

Iowa State is coming off an absolute choke job of a loss. They held a ten-point lead with 14 minutes left but would give it away and suffer a 79-66 loss to Oklahoma. The Cyclones have now lost two of their last three after starting 12-0, and it does not get easier with a matchup at Allen Fieldhouse.

The Jayhawks are also coming into this game with a loss as they played their worse game of the season. Kansas was dominated on the boards, but an uncharacteristic 17 turnovers cost them the game against Texas Tech. They are one of the best when their offense is on as they are ninth in the country in points per game (83.3). Senior guard Ochai Agbaji has come into his own this year as he shoots 47.3% and is one of the best perimeter shooters in the country.

The Jayhawks will not put up a dud like against Texas Tech. The status of Remy Martin hurts a little as he only played 25 minutes last game and could hinder them slightly if he’s not 100%. The Iowa State defense has some nice stats, but they hadn’t seen a true test till they allowed 77 points to Baylor — Kansas should get there as well. The total is your best bet here.

Pick: Over 142

Total Parlay: +611 (DraftKings)
