College Football Parlay Bets for Week 10

Week 10 of the College Football season got off to an early start with the return of MACtion on Wednesday night. The Pac-12’s return this weekend means that all ten FBS conferences will be in action for the first time all year. There still aren’t full stadiums, but it’s going to be a fun Saturday of football, nonetheless.

With COVID-19 news and updates for various teams and conferences changing daily, it’s of paramount importance that bettors stay up to date on College Football news. Typically, there’s a lot to be said for grabbing a number early to try and obtain the best value possible. This is not your typical College Football season. Bettors are best suited to wait until closer to the kickoff to lock in wagers in an attempt to ensure maximum information is available to take into consideration.

Week 10 presents several tricky lines and the betting market has seen limited movement for the most part. Narratives and discrepancies in power ratings play an integral role in putting together bets to use in this week’s College Football parlays. Read on for this week’s featured parlay plays.

Week 10 College Football Parlay No. 1

A couple of marquee games take center stage in our first featured College Football parlay for week 10. It just goes to show that even the biggest games can yield too much betting value to resist. Together, a primetime battle for ACC supremacy and an outdoor cocktail party combine with an undervalued Big Ten favorite to produce payout odds of +403.

Clemson (-5.5)

Of course, the headline news surrounding Clemson and their game against Notre Dame this week is the fact that Trevor Lawrence will not play due to COVID-19. What confuses me is the fact that he will be on the sidelines to both coach and cheer on his teammates after negative tests earlier in the week. While his absence from the playing field itself is likely in accordance with ACC coronavirus guidelines (of which I am admittedly not an expert), it’s hard to believe Clemson would not push for him to play if they weren’t confident in D.J. Uiagalelei. Clemson’s poor first half performance against Boston College last week was not the freshman QB’s fault by any means. If anything, he played better once unleashed in the second half. Notre Dame has been over ranked all season long and has a history of falling flat when they take a step up in competition against College Football’s elite. I’ll gladly lay the short spread with the Tigers.

Florida (+3.5)

The appetizer to Clemson-Notre Dame earlier in the day is the 2020 version of the “World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party” as Florida and Georgia battle for SEC East supremacy. Both sides come in with a single loss each, Florida to Texas A&M and Georgia to Alabama. The winner of this game will have an inside track to the SEC Championship Game while the loser will be all but eliminated from College Football Playoff contention. Georgia sports what is, for my money, the best defense in the country. Unfortunately, the Bulldogs’ lack of consistent quarterback play is cause for concern. Florida doesn’t have the problem thanks to senior signal-caller Kyle Trask. In what should be a close game throughout, I’ll look to grab the 3 plus the hook with the Gators.

Iowa (-265)

Only twice under head coach Kirk Ferentz has Iowa started 0-3 in Big Ten play (1999, 2007). They are in danger of doing that this weekend when they welcome in Michigan State. Iowa has let leads slip away in each of their first two contests this season, so expect the Hawkeyes to have the loose ends tied up on Saturday. In actuality, this is more of a play against MSU than it is one on Iowa. The Spartans are WAY overvalued in the betting market fresh off of their shocking upset of Michigan last week. While it was a major statement for the program, let’s not forget that Mel Tucker’s rebuild has only just begun in East Lansing. This same Spartans team lost to Rutgers two weeks ago. Lightning isn’t likely to strike twice.

Week 10 College Football Parlay No. 2

Our second featured College Football parlay for Week 10 takes on a similar strategy to the first as we look to combine a pair of best bets with a home favorite on the moneyline. The resulting payout odds are +313.

Michigan (-3)

Behold, the other half of the equation from last week’s Michigan State shocker. Michigan is a better football team than what we saw last week. Meanwhile, one could argue that Indiana is over ranked in their own right. The Hoosiers beat Penn State two weeks ago in a game that saw them be dominated statistically and followed that up with a win over Rutgers last week. If not for Michigan’s loss last week, I think it’s safe to say this number would be a lot higher. I’ll back Jim Harbaugh’s team in this spot.

Tulane at East Carolina (Over 60.5)

Serious question here: who’s stopping who in this game? Tulane comes in giving up an average of 30.7 points per game. East Carolina is even worse, surrendering 37.0 points per contest. Both teams have shown an ability to move the ball and put up points as well. East Carolina’s offense, the harder of the two to trust, showed out against a stout Tulsa defense last week. 60.5 total points is a lot, but then again, both teams reside in the defense-optional American Athletic Conference. I’m comfortable backing this one to go over.

Cincinnati (-590)

The lone exception to the “defense-optional” label that I bestowed upon the AAC above is Cincinnati. The 6th-ranked Bearcats actually have one of the best defenses in the country, ranking fourth in points allowed per game (10.0). after dominant victories over SMU and Memphis the past two weeks, it’s clear that Luke Fickell has this team on a mission. Although plenty talented, Houston has disappointed me thus far. After being held in check by UCF in a blowout loss last week, I’m hard-pressed to say that Dana Holgorsen’s Cougars will have many answers offensively for Cincinnati’s sturdy D.
