College Football Parlay Bets for Week 13

I must confess that I've never gotten the true Black Friday shopping experience. College football is squarely to blame for this. There is just no better way to ride out a Thanksgiving food coma than kicking back and enjoying back-to-back days of college football. 2020 has been a year unlike any other in many ways, but we are treated to some semblance of normalcy with a slew of games on both the Friday and Saturday of Thanksgiving week.

Betting college football continues to be a fickle process this season thanks to the game cancellations and player alerts that can pop up at seemingly any time. As a handicapper, make sure you are dotting your i's and crossing your t's before betting any game. This year more than ever, it's extremely important to be on top of things in order to bet with an edge and turn a profit. We'll attempt to do just that with our Week 13 college football parlays. And trust me, you don't want to leave these plays as leftovers for the other guy!

Week 13 College Football Parlay No. 1

Let's get the action started with a college football parlay featuring all Black Friday games. A Big Ten favorite combined with a pair of point spread underdogs results in +334 payout odds.

Iowa (-530)

After stumbling out of the gates to an 0-2 start, Kirk Ferentz's Iowa squad has found their footing. The Hawkeyes have rolled each of their last three opponents, including a 20-point road win over Penn State last week. Quarterback Spencer Petras has shown flashes of his potential, although Iowa hasn't needed him to do too much, thanks to the potent running back tandem of Tyler Goodson and Mekhi Sargent. They next get the opportunity to run against a Nebraska defense that has surrendered 530 rushing yards over the last two weeks to Penn State and Illinois. Iowa should win this game without too much trouble.

UNLV (+16.5)

Backing a winless team ATS is always a bit daunting, but it's worth noting that UNLV has shown improvement. The Rebels were tied with Fresno State through three quarters two weeks ago and avoided total humiliation against unbeaten San Jose State last Saturday. Back home in Allegiant Stadium, I like UNLV to stay within 16.5 against a Wyoming team that has struggled mightily on the road. Outside of a neutral site game in the Arizona Bowl, the Cowboys went 0-6 away from Laramie last season and are 0-2 thus far in 2020. The Pokes leaning on RB Xazavian Valladay offensively figures to shorten the game as well, making it harder to cover such a large number.

Oregon State (+13.5)

I went against the Beavers in this very column last week and they carved that pick up better than the trunk of a fallen tree. I've learned from my mistakes and will happily play on Oregon State this week catching 13.5 points at home in the Civil War rivalry game. Oregon is the Pac-12's lone realistic hope at securing a spot in the College Football Playoff, but I've yet to be impressed by the Ducks this season. Stanford looked awful in the season-opener, and Oregon has been far from dominant in wins over Washington State and UCLA in each of the last two weeks. Rivalry games are always hard-fought, with the Civil War being no exception over the years. I like the Beavs to stay within two scores on their home turf.

Week 13 College Football Featured Parlay No. 2

We shift to the Saturday slate for our second featured parlay of the week. The ticket features action from four different conferences in the form of two moneyline favorites and a pair of strong ATS leans. The resulting odds are +414.

Boston College (-1.5)

Jeff Hafley's BC team has proven more than capable of playing with the big boys in the ACC this season. The Eagles stayed within a score of both Clemson and North Carolina and fell by exactly two touchdowns to Notre Dame in their last outing. Transfer quarterback Phil Jurkovec has the Eagles' offense looking the best it has in years. For my money, the BC defense continues to fly under the radar. They'll have a chance to show out against Malik Cunningham and the Louisville attack on Saturday.

Michigan State (+13.5)

Northwestern is 5-0 and in the top-10 of the initial College Football Playoff rankings which were released Tuesday. Despite this, I still have an issue with anointing the Wildcats as a true threat to the likes of Ohio State. Northwestern has failed to reach 300 yards of total offense in three of their five victories this season. Mel Tucker and Michigan State are clearly in rebuilding mode, but they aren't incapable of putting up a fight. Just ask Jim Harbaugh and Michigan. Sparty catching 13.5 at home to a team that has only one victory of greater than ten points all season is just too good to pass up.

Texas A&M (-560)

Jimbo Fisher's Aggies are every-bit deserving of the No. 5 ranking they received in the initial College Football Playoff rankings. With a path to the Playoff still in their sites, there's no reason to believe Texas A&M won't show up on Saturday. LSU has had significant defensive issues all season, and Kellen Mond figures to be their next nightmare.

Miami Ohio (-590)

It's a given that all streaks in sports will eventually come to an end. But anytime I get the chance to bet against a program that has lost 20 straight games, I try not to overthink things. That's the story of Akron football in recent seasons. I highly doubt the Zips put that futile streak to rest against the defending MAC champions. Miami Ohio had an extra week to let the sting of a 28-point loss at Buffalo seep in. They'll be more than ready for Akron on Saturday.
