College Football Parlay Picks: Week 2

An entertaining Week 1 of the NCAAF regular season is in the books, and it’s now time to focus our research efforts on another jam-packed Saturday slate. Since it’s still early in the year, there are a number of ridiculous game lines on the board for powerhouse FBS programs facing off with lesser foes.

We’ve avoided those contests for this week’s parlay article. Here are our calls on the 10 most appealing matchups we found on the Saturday afternoon slate. All odds are current as of this writing and courtesy of PointsBet

UAB at Akron, 12 PM, CBSSN

The Zips showed nothing last week while being dominated by Illinois on the road, while the Blazers won a close one at home over Alabama State. Akron likely won’t win here, but they should at least be able to keep it respectable for the home opener.

The Pick: Akron +9 (-110)

Army at Michigan, 12 PM, FOX

This is a tricky spot for a Wolverines team which wasn’t overly impressive last week. Army didn’t exactly knock it out of the park in its season-opening win either, but we would imagine the Knights will be more than up for this game. Michigan wins, but Army keeps it interesting.

The Pick: Army +22.5 (-110)

Vanderbilt at Purdue, 12 PM, BTN

Being a road favorite in Week 1 over Nevada didn’t agree too well with Purdue. It should be a different story on the home field. Vanderbilt isn’t quite the pushover many make them out to be, but the Boilermakers have enough firepower on offense to put on a show for the home crowd.

The Pick: Purdue -7 (-105)

Syracuse at Maryland, 12 PM, ESPN2

These two programs both opened up the year with shutout victories over lesser foes. Syracuse can reach double-digit wins this year, but we don’t see Maryland hitting anywhere near that mark. We’ll take the Orange in a small upset.

The Pick: Syracuse +2 (-110)

West Virginia at Missouri, 12 PM, ESPN2

The Tigers were stunned at home by Wyoming in Week 1, while the Mountaineers had a tougher than expected time with James Madison. Both programs clearly have work to do, so a double-digit spread is a bit much. Missouri wins, but West Virginia covers.

The Pick: West Virginia +13.5 (-110)

Cincinnati at Ohio State, 12 PM, ABC

This is an intriguing matchup between a big-time program and one which would love to be at that level. Cincinnati has enough on defense to keep this one interesting for a while, but the talented Buckeyes offense will be able to pull away at the end.

The Pick: Ohio State -16 (-110)

South Florida at Georgia Tech, 2 PM, ACCN

The Bulls were abominable in a Week 1 home shutout loss to Wisconsin. However, they get to pick the pieces up by visiting a Yellow Jackets team in transition. We’re seeing a closer game than the spread indicates for two squads which are trying to find their way in 2019.

The Pick: South Florida +6.5 (-110)

Nebraska at Colorado, 3:30 PM, FOX

These two programs faced off last year with the Buffaloes pulling off a five-point road upset. Beyond being a revenge spot, the Cornhuskers are a team which is poised to be a lot better in 2019. We like them to avenge the loss and cover as they continue their ascent.

The Pick: Nebraska -4 (-110)

Texas A&M at Clemson, 3:30 PM, ABC

This is another rematch from last year. The Aggies provided the Tigers with one of their toughest games of 2018 but ultimately fell at home. This one is on Clemson’s turf, but we still like Texas A&M to make this game awfully interesting.

The Pick: Texas A&M +17.5 (-110)

San Diego State at UCLA, 4:15 PM, PAC12

This will be the home opener for UCLA after they dropped a 10-point road decision to Cincinnati. The program should take a step forward in year two of the Chip Kelly era. We’ll look for that to begin coming to fruition with a big home win.

The Pick: UCLA -7.5 (-110)
